I hope you enjoyed the favorite "nooks" featured earlier this month. Now I can share another fabulous batch for you. Today's comes from the author of the wonderful blog, Isabella & Max Rooms. She is a talented designer with a stunning home and a sense of whimsy - I'm a great fan of Janell. I'll let her explain her show you her favorite spot.

What a fun idea. Thanks for asking me to participate in this, sounds like a post I'd like to read! This is my living room, a spot I enjoy spending a bit of quiet time in most mornings.
My favorite nook is the small curved sofa in my living room. It is a space in our home I recently claimed as my own, turning it into a sort of workspace/study for myself.
I go here after the kids have left for school, I sit down with a cup of coffee, open my computer and catch up on my blog and magazine reading before starting in on my day's work. The sofa faces the street and as I read I get glimpses of the neighborhood moving by.
I've made it my own by adding the Blog House sign, a few sentimental items, pillows, and the hand painted wall treatment above the fireplace make this space my own.
If I could change one thing I would run hardwood flooring into the space...and then cover up the majority of it with a cozy thick area rug.

What an amazing room. So serene, and yet dramatic. I love the design over the mantel, really draws you in. What a lucky lady you are to have such a beautiful place to work in. So nicely done!
ReplyDeleteI'm a big Janell fan! Glad you featured her.
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous, cozy room. I can see why you love it and why Mrs. Limestone admires you. The pink-ish pillows on the sofa and the (oversized?) bracelet on the tray are my favorite accesories.
ReplyDeleteThere are not enough adjectives in the world to describe my love and envy of this space. The wall color, the couch, the antlers, the wallpaper accent... Unreal!
ReplyDeleteWow-What a beautiful room. I love the colors. It looks so relaxing.

ReplyDeleteI currently have an extra pedestal table floating in the middle of a small den/tv space off my kitchen...I had been thinking of ways to furnish that would flex as an informal dining area AND a living area AND a workspace. I love the concept of a curved sofa with it! Thanks for finalizing the inspiration. Do you mind sharing where you got the sofa?
ReplyDeleteOh my word, this nook is exquisite!! The warmth and effortless style it exudes....I'm just smitten. I'm coming over so we can have afternoon tea and chat. =]

Would it be acceptable to say that I am lusting over this space. To blog and think and create in that space... sigh.
ReplyDeleteBTW, the link you posted is broken. Just a heads up.
