This is my side of the bed. It's where I blog, study, read, snuggle the dog, watch TV, and {obviously} sleep.
The master bedroom is the first room in our 1880's rowhome that's D.O.N.E. done. We have 2 box rooms, ill-fitting furniture in the living room and renovation tools & supplies in our dining room pantry. When the entire house is in chaos {which is more often than not} the master bedroom is our retreat. It's clean and done. It is our place to escape the dust and awful paint choices of the previous owner. Have I mentioned it's done? Sweet sweet victory.
This space is full of little things I've done myself but my proudest DIY is the headboard. That diamond tufted headboard took me FOREVER to finish and was such a labor of love. I'm still working on getting the instructions together, but will eventually post a "How To" on Brick City Love. I also made the pillowcases and nightstands. The Kramare wall lamp is from IKEA {CFL bulbs keep the metal shade cool to the touch} & the organic matelassé duvet is from West Elm in slate. We painted the radiator orange and installed theatrical drapes {salvaged from an old theatre in California!} to block out the light.
I'm still working out what to do on top of the tall dresser in the bedroom. You don't see it in these pictures but it's what I face when I'm sitting in bed. I've got some of my doll mold collection sitting on top of it now but I think it would be more useful with a lamp and vintage fan. Even though I'm still working out what to do in that area, I'm considering the room done. Got to leave room to grow & change!
Thank you for having me, Stefanie!! Brooklyn Limestone is one of my very favorite stops on the internet and has been the source of incredible inspiration.

AMAZING headboard! And the orange! Love!
ReplyDeleteI have always dreamed of a city chic abode but instead live in a cute Southern home in the suburbs. I love Carrie's style because it's so urban, so chic, and so sophisticated, while simultaneously young and fresh. She is pretty amazing!
ReplyDeleteI can't decide what I adore more...the pops of orange, that tufted dream of a headboard, or those fabulous wall lamps. Or the fact that you repurposed & DIYed most of the elements in this space. Brilliant & gorgeous!! Off to see more of your blog!
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling... we have one room (bathroom) that is done! It's a brilliant feeling.
