Hey everybody! I'm Joi from Nuestra Vida Dulce and I am honored to be sharing some before and afters with you all today!
One of my personal favorite rooms in our humble sized home is our kitchen. It started out pretty bleak but it's come a long way.
We moved into our 1100 square foot ranch-style home 6 years ago. Our kitchen looked like this when we first laid eyes on it.
Yikes, right?
One of the first DIY projects that my husband and I dove into was painting our cabinets. I am so happy we did because it updated the space immediately. While we were at it, we replaced the old hardware as well.
Over the years we have replaced the green laminate countertop for a more modern Corian countertop in the Sandalwood colorway.
Additionally, we replaced our white appliances with stainless steel upgrades and I painted the walls a deep gray-brown.
Two of my most prized possessions are my kitchen island and dining room table that my father-in-law built for us. He's the best!
I still would like to add a tile back splash and replace the floors, but who knows when that will happen! It's definitely a marathon and not a sprint.
Thanks for reading and thanks for having me, S!

Wow, your kitchen actually looks very simliar to the kitchen makeover we JUST completed! Only I would love to replace the countertops too like you did!
ReplyDeleteJoi's kitchen looks great! Love the plates on the wall, the ghost chairs with the chunky wooden table, the light fixure, the paint color!!! That's everything, right?!
ReplyDeleteThanks for featuring her Stef!
The island looks like it was made for that space--looks great!
ReplyDeletei have been wanting to hang plates on our dining room wall for some time now, and seeing joi's plates have lit a fire under me to finally do it! was wondering if she (or others who've done it) could share what product they used to hang them? have read mixed reviews about the adhesive pads, but not crazy about the wire hangers. hoping for some other thoughts or good tips!
ReplyDeleteI love your wall color and the plates. It looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteJoi has a style all her own & she rocks it! So inspiring! You couldn't meet a sweeter blogger than J.
ReplyDeleteI actually got to meet Joi and her husband, Dave, in St. Louis a few weeks back. Let me tell you, their hearts are just as beautiful as their home. They are an absolute blast...so happy we were able to meet and so excited for all the good things coming their way!
ReplyDeleteWhat a transformation .. i love it!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe kitchen has come a long way! I like how the dark gray walls make the white cabinets pop. What kind of backsplash are you thinking about?
