Halloween feels like a distant memory already but here are a couple of shots from the day.
We thought Halloween being a Monday would result in fewer trick or treaters. We thought wrong! We gave out candy to 1100 kids before running out and turning the rest away. Crazy town.
Until next year...
Wow, that's a lot of trick or treaters! The way your home was decorated, I'm sure a lot of kids wanted to visit your house. We didn't get a single trick or treater at our house on Long Island. So sad.... we look forward to seeing the little ones dressed up.
ReplyDeleteI had between 20-25 kids. I would have loved to have had the number you had because I love Halloween!
ReplyDeleteWoW! Your decorations are great. Would love to come trick or treating in your side of town. (if I was a few years younger)
ReplyDelete1100 kids!? That is INSANE! I thought the 75-100 kids we had at our house was the most I had ever seen (I grew up in a slightly rural area) but that is unreal.
ReplyDelete1100 Kids? That's just insane! We unfortunately only had a dozen or so in our new neighborhood... good thing we invited our friends and their kiddos over to enjoy the day.
ReplyDeleteActually it has nothing to do with us. Even before we moved there, there were always a hoarde of trick or treaters that trolled my block.
ReplyDelete1100!?! That is amazing, my dad gave out candy at our house and the count was just over 100. Great photos. Janell
ReplyDeleteholy cow, 1100 kids! i can't even imagine. although i'm sure word of your house decorations spread like wildfire, attracting families from many boroughs.
ReplyDeleteLove your costumes!
ReplyDeleteLooks great as always. I wonder who appreciates your decor most, your blog readers or the kids?
ReplyDeleteIncredible! I always love seeing how your Halloween comes together. I'm not surprised how busy you guys are on Halloween night!! I'd love to see your home in person on the big day also!
ReplyDeleteYou are my Halloween decorating idol. No wonder you just stand out at the fence and hand it out, I had about 200 and just stood in my entryway because there wasn't time to get 2 feet from the front door. Thank you soooo much for all the inspiration you provide!! PS Any idea where someone found the Sloth mask? We are huge Goonies fans on our family.
ReplyDeleteWow 1100 visitors....I cannot imagine. We had 6!
ReplyDeletethat's insane 1100 kids!! I would be inline too, love your Halloween decor! :)
ReplyDeleteOver 1000 kids??? That's insane! I got maybe 30 and thought that was a lot! As always, your place totally inspires. Your guests looked the part, too (that girl's eyes freak me out!).
ReplyDeleteSounds like you should be getting donations from the candy companies. Good PR?!?! You guys are amazing! XO
ReplyDeleteWow! Look at all those people waiting in line to get to your house! You are a hit! I would wait too. You have to be the best house in the neighborhood.
ReplyDelete1100?? Am I reading that right? We had a pathetic ten or so, and that was up from last year. :-(
ReplyDeleteI have been waiting for this post! I cannot even imagine 1100 trick or treaters. I didn't have any. :( BUT my neighborhood doesn't have many kids.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos. Looks like it was a huge hit.
1,100 trick or treaters! Wow!
ReplyDeleteThat is just bonkers. I didn't get even 1 trick or treater this year. :( However, we're new to the area so I'll forgive them this one year! Those costumes are fantastic and crazy all at the same time. I hope I'm at least fractionally put together in comparison to you by next year.
ReplyDeleteWow, Excellent photo's!! Really love your blog!! Also this is going to totally freak you out but i have exactly the same brass chandelier as you...Sending you pics of my 'gothic tea party!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing... your decorations, costumes, etc. look so great. And, like others, I am shocked at the number of trick-or-treaters you had! Halloween is my very favorite holiday... it sure looks like you made a lot of people happy!
ReplyDeleteCan you share how you did some ofthe food dishes? I.e. - what was the food made into the rat molds? Dd guestseat it? :-). Where did you get the molds, and any other tips for fun Halloween food.
ReplyDeleteYou never disappoint!

I am in awe of your Halloween preparation and the results. Love the outside of the house from a prior post and the asylum idea is perfectly creepy. Your passion for Halloween really shows. I am sure you are the favorite stop on the block.
ReplyDeleteI don't even understand that many trick or treaters. I mean, is there crowd control?! I'm in awe.
ReplyDeleteWow! 1100?? OMG. We got 10. The party looks fun and fab!
ReplyDeleteWe did have someone complain last year that we didn't do a good job of managing the line that formed for our cotton candy last year. You know, the cotton candy that we gave to STRANGERS for FREE. Just goes to show you there is someone who will see the negative in anything - even free cotton candy!
ReplyDeleteI made the rats with a mold I bought at Michaels and some of that easy melt 'chocolate'. No one hacked into them while I was there but I had several people who wanted to take one home with them so I consider that a winner. haha
ReplyDeleteCan't take any credit for the numbers - they were there before we got there. It just gave me more motivation to go all out for Halloween.
ReplyDeleteSloth wasn't anyone I know - I just had to snap a photo when I saw him walk by. Brought back memories.
ReplyDeleteAs to where to buy one - just do a google search - there are several companies that sell it.
Awesome you both are amazing!!! I used your last years invites for my party this year. Everyone loved and raved about them. Keep your wonderful ideas coming
ReplyDeleteLove the brain cake. Bet it was delicious!
ReplyDeleteWow! I just love the Halloween decor and the costumes. The food looks gross and delicious at the same time lol!
