It might seem like this is the worlds slowest room reveal but I'm not dragging it out on purpose. Im still missing the glider. I won't go into the details of what the hold up is now but its extremely aggravating and completely out of my control! Serenity now!
In happier news, the dresser is painted and I have some artwork up. If you recall my original design, I had a slightly different plan but once the bassinet and dresser were in the room, it felt more spacious reversed so I made some changes. I may still put up that picture frame molding on the other side of the room but I want to have everything place before I add anything else since I might prefer to use the blank wall for other, more temporary displays.
The artwork was a twist on this free download I shared a while back. I took 4 favorite quotes from children's books and hung them in Ikea Odby frames. I think it breaks up the navy blue wall nicely, works perfectly with the coral in the window treatments and adds a punch of pink without being too sweet. What do you think?
I have a couple of finishing touches to add before I can't do another thing in here but wait. At this point, I'm putting my money on baby arriving before the room is done.
Every time I see your draperies I squee with excitement! I placed my order for that fabric yesterday and I can't wait for it to arrive so I can get sewing! The room looks LOVELY! I especially love the dark navy walls with the coral pink. Beauty!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Looks great with the curtains! I love the colors in here!!
ReplyDeleteLovely. :) And if it's not done before baby gets here life will go on. I promise. :)
ReplyDeleteWe finished up Charlotte's room literally minutes before Katie left for the hospital. (oh wait, I still have a couple more projects I need to do for that sweet grandbaby's room!)
Baby's room is turning out amazing!
ReplyDeleteI know life will go on but that doesn't make it any less annoying. It would be nice to be able to nurse the baby sitting down.
ReplyDeleteLove these- such a fun pop of color!
ReplyDeleteI love those quotes and frames. I have stared at those frames so many times at ikea and haven't bought them yet...you may have just convinced me to. Love the navy and coral combo....
ReplyDeleteI love the nursery! I was so obsessed with having my son's nursery perfect a month before my due date, in case he came early. Turns out he was a week late, and the 2nd night we were home we moved his crib into our room. We ended up moving when he was 6 months old, so he was almost 8 months old before he spent a night in his nursery! I would have never thought that while I was pregnant!
ReplyDeleteThe coral and navy are perfect together! I LOVE the children's books quotes, especially in those frames. LOVE LOVE LOVE!
ReplyDeleteThis room just makes me so darn happy. I love it. Love the color, the curtains, the adorable Penguin book art, all of it. And yes, it SUCKS that the glider isn't in. I hate anticipating something like that and having it stall out. I hope it comes soon so you're able to fully enjoy such a serene space.
ReplyDeleteLove your color combination! So perfect! What are the quotes you chose?
ReplyDeleteThe quotes are:
ReplyDelete-Tell me a story, tuck me in tight, tell me you love me, kiss me goodnight
-Sometimes the smallest things take up the most space in your heart
-The more you read, the more you'll know, the more you know the more places you'll go
-I love you forever, Ill like you for always, as long as I'm living, my baby you'll be
Lots of people seem to say they dont use the nursery right away but I think it will be different for us since this room is right next to ours and we don't have anyplace to feed her upstairs (except sitting on the bed) aside from in here. I'm sure we wont use the nursery exclusively but Im also sure Ill be using this room if its outfitted correctly.
ReplyDeleteIt came out so pretty so far. I really like the color combination very much.
ReplyDeleteSo precious. I love the art, and it really pops against the navy. The room is really coming together! Hope everything works out well with the glider, I'm sure it's frustrating to have to wait. Have a very merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI love how it's coming along!
ReplyDeleteI seriously have never been to Ikea (my nearest one is 2.5 hours away) but I'm in LOVE with those frames!
I love love love it. I can't wait to see your baby in there.

The coral looks amazing with the navy...LOVE The combo!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love how this room came out and love love love the navy and coral combination. I'm thinking of getting the same fabric as your curtains but in gray. Hope your glider arrives soon!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the Penguin cover artwork - great choice!!
ReplyDeleteI love the color scheme, it is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt's all coming together so nicely! Love the blue and coral!
ReplyDeletePerfection!
ReplyDeleteStefanie.... soooooo perfect! The frames/pictures just pop on the wall and those quotes are adorable. Your creativity never ceases to amaze me. love love love!
ReplyDeleteThanks Wendy!
ReplyDeleteOnce you have an ikea near you, you will wonder how you lived without it. Its not so much the typical things I find there but if you entertain a lot, its so helpful!
ReplyDeleteThe nursery looks fantastic! I used the same fabric that you used for your curtains for a duvet in my master bedroom (except in charcoal). We've had it for a while and it's held up really well!
ReplyDeleteAs a children's librarian, I also love the book quotes! I may have to borrow that idea for my son's nursery. I'm still in the planning stages - too many ideas and I can't focus ; ) I guess I have until May to figure it out.
Stefanie, I must have been gone for a while, because I just now realized you are pregnant! Best of luck to you and your new addition. The nursery is looking gorgeous, but I'd expect nothing less from you. ;-)
