Hard to believe another year has gone by! One of the things I love most about blogging is that it forces me to keep a sort of journal of the highlights of life. So what better way to start the year than to highlight some of my favorites in 2012?
Here are a few of my favorite DIY projects completed in 2012. For those of you who may have missed them the first time around, I hope you'll enjoy. And for those of you sick of hearing about baby things, not a one of these is nursery related! (I'll get to those in another post)
Definitely my absolute favorite was this octopus dresser I hand painted, self titled From the Deep. It seemed to elicit some strong reactions from octopus haters and lovers alike but I'm still loving it.
Runner Up was this vertical herb garden we made from scratch to spice up the backyard inspired by a floral display we saw in Prague years ago.
Third favorite goes to my genius inspired window treatment - not only because its ridiculous easy and completely free but also because I think its just plain fun.
I have three more coming up in my next post so stay tuned!
Anything you really enjoyed seeing this year that you want to add? Or maybe something you wished you'd had seen? Lay it on me!
What about you? Have you done your own favorite recap of 2012? Please leave me a link in the comments because I would love to see yours too.

Loved all these projects and huge congrats on your new little one!! The octopus chest of drawers is absolutely inspired - I'm on the side of the lovers ;)
ReplyDeleteI did my own roundup for the year here...

Completely agree that it's great keeping track of past accomplishments. It's funny but I didn't even realise we'd gotten so much done ;) Happy New Year!
Congratulations!!! I have three (age 3, 10 &15) my best advice is go with "your" instincts. You do really know best as Agatha's Mom. Also don't panic if a stage she is in seems unbearable, before you know it she will change it up and it will be gone. Enjoy her! I just posted our re-cap of 2012 would love for you to stop by http://adoreyourplace.com/2013/01/02/hot-blog-topics-2012/ , Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteLOVED all of these so much, you are so creative!
ReplyDeleteI thought I was a faithful reader, but I somehow missed the octopus dresser-until today. That dresser is simply adorable. Nicely done!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping the octopus dresser weathered Sandy okay? If I remember right he was for your place at the shore. Beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteOf course your best DIY is Agatha.
ReplyDeleteI dig the herb garden! I have more vertical space than horizontal, so I've been looking for something similar.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on beautiful Agatha. I know you are busy being a new mother, but if you have a moment, can you please recommend a stripping agent for a varnished antique maple table? I am about to tackle my first DIY refinishing project!!
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that has ever worked for me was Peel Away - it's expensive but works well. If you do a search here you'll see a very old post about it.
ReplyDeleteI just saw the pic of Agatha, congrats! Yay! I have to say, you really planned that perfectly - a brand new 2012 tax deduction born right under the wire....ha! She's gorgeous, congrats!
ReplyDeletenice blog,i think that it is expensive but well.thanks for your post.
ReplyDeleteGreat recap! Can't wait for tomorrow's. The silhouette on the window IS sheer genius! I did a recap of my 12 favorite DIYs from 2012: http://dans-le-townhouse.blogspot.ca/2013/01/best-of-2012-diy-edition.html
ReplyDeleteI love the vertical garden! How did I miss that from before?? Hope you're enjoying time with Agatha. here's my year in review: http://lovelifelists.blogspot.com/2012/12/525600-minutes.html
ReplyDeleteI agree with Priscilla -- Agatha is your best DIY. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm still totally smitten with that vertical garden you did - such a great idea, especially for city dwellers! Here is my 2012 year in review: http://thesweetestdigs.com/2013/01/02/2012-year-in-review/
ReplyDeleteI love your succinct round up. Mine was a little longer, but I don't post quite as often as you. (http://www.tatumgreatindoors.blogspot.com/2013/01/2012-roundup-2013.html)
