On the other hand, seeing an empty room gets my brain firing on all cylinders to do something a little different. Maybe more industrial or more playful or more flea market chic? Obviously I would keep the sofa and chair but maybe I should take it in a new direction?
I can't decide! What do you think? Any suggestions?
Note: This panoramic image makes it look like I have a ballroom sized living room. Obviously that is not the case!
Looked great before, but change is good for the soul. I can't wait to see what you decide
ReplyDeleteMix some of the old stuff with some new, preferably something like the mentioned 'flea market chic' or boho style...
ReplyDeleteI get the same way. I'm almost overwhelmed with possibilities. Part of me wants to take advantage of the blank slate and make a bunch of changes but another part of me often thinks, "but you were happy with the layout before, you are allowed to keep it if you like it."
ReplyDeleteThe result is, my rooms stay empty until some crises forces me to throw everything back. the holidays are going to be a good deadline for me. ;-)
It looked very pretty before, but why not try something new? Something a little daring? Something unexpected. You're a designer…take a risk woman! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is a really nice base as it was and the gallery wall was very successful. The room would really look great if you add more texture, pattern & color. If you want it monochromatic at least add more hues of that one color for some depth. Then layer in more interest with some unique finds.
ReplyDeleteKeep your gallery wall, and the TV stand as they are for now. When Agatha starts to bring her own treasures home from the beach, nothing will ever look as perfect again, so a few more months of loveliness won't hurt!! I am with Little Edie above, a little more texture would be great. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great base! I say keep the best of what used to be in the room but change it up some. Add a new accent color or like Little Edie said, some texture for depth. Either way, it will be fun to see what you decide! Good luck :)
ReplyDeleteI think keep the gallery wall - because those things are a pain the arse to get all the prints framed and jazz - and then mix up the rug and maybe a furniture or two. Add some more arts and maybe a window treatment situation?
ReplyDeleteSince the space is a blank canvas why not experiment a little and see where it goes? I'd make a wish list for what you'd like to see in the space and then go shopping! Isn't that best part anyway?
ReplyDeleteprobably more work than you want to do, but i saw this on pinterest and it reminded me of your space! http://www.pinterest.com/pin/195765915026198108/
