A little bit more in keeping with my style, don't you think?

backsplash is peel & stick smart tiles which were super easy to install and totally make the whole look! I just cut with a scissors, peeled and stuck. (These are actually made for real kitchens so a good alternative to retiling if you don't want the hassle or have other restraints in case you are wondering. They look very authentic!)

paint was annie sloan chalk paint in graphite mixed with white

awesome play food from HABA - agatha will not stop playing with these and is learning all of the words for the vegetables and fruits. I love it all and am going to be collecting every piece they make!
That's it for now. I want to add some side storage and some interior shelving but my cordless saw was acting up so I put that upgrade on the back burner for now. In the meantime, Aggie is cooking up a pretend feast!
That is SO cute. At first I was like "OMG did she TILE the backsplash?!" but the peel n stick is such a great idea. Amazing job!
ReplyDeleteOh my soul at the CUTENESS! Well done!
ReplyDeleteA picture of Little Miss playing there would be the icing in the cake, hint, hint.
Oh don't worry, you'll be seeing her and it again I'm sure. Especially if you follow me on Instagram.
DeleteThis turned out perfectly and so you. And you didn't video the reveal why.......giggle. Hugs from Conroe, TX
ReplyDeleteIf I had any clue she was going to react that way, I totally would have!
DeleteLove it! Where did you find the pots and pans?
ReplyDeleteThanks. Im not 100% sure about the pots because I was given them second hand so no packaging but pretty sure they are these: http://www.amazon.com/Kitchen-Cookware-Playset-Cooking-Utensils/dp/B008MA2EOU/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1405527249&sr=8-6&keywords=toys+pots+and+pans
DeleteI wash them in the sink like other dishes and they seem pretty durable although not as sturdy as the Melissa & Doug ones I would have bought if I hadn't gotten these.
That is SO SO cute. I love the tiled back splash! So pretty!!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute!
ReplyDeleteshe's gonna love this a long time. it's adorable :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute!!! Great job! You could add a towel bar on the side and a little hook for an apron. You know.... if you get bored one day :)
ReplyDeleteYes totally. I actually wanted to make a little organizer pot rack thingymajig to hang from the right side but my saw decided not to work and it just felt too mean to keep the kitchen from aggie for weeks on end when she could be playing with it.
DeleteKind of like this but way, way smaller: http://www.target.com/p/wooden-shelf-with-s-hooks/-/A-14971968#prodSlot=medium_1_2&term=wall+shelf+with+hooks
This is amazing. If I'd had this kitchen back in the 70's when I was a kid...well, I might have been a Michelin starred chef! Bravo!
ReplyDeleteCUTE!!! I'm just starting to think about a play kitchen for my son so this is very timely for me. Love the backsplash... good thinking!
ReplyDeleteI love how good this came out. It's in competition with your gorgeous kitsch now lol. It's great to see how much you enjoy being a Mom.
ReplyDeleteI love it! You did such a great job.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Aggie's one lucky gal!! I could see her (or you ;-) whipping up some eggs Benedict in that charming space. I've been meaning to do something to Quinn's IKEA kitchen for the last year. Thanks for the inspiration!

I totally want my own play kitchen, her's is so dreamy! Her little kitchen came out so pretty and I love all the play food - we got our little toddler a shopping cart and he loves it!! :) It's so much fun to watch them play pretend
ReplyDeleteAggie needs to go on top chef!
ReplyDeleteYou need to go on top MOM!
Sweet and dreamy play kitchenette.

It's totally adorable. I think the tile is my favorite part. And I love it when the kiddos actually respond and react to something you made them. Heart. Bursting.
