It may have taken a while but I'm finally calling the dining room done! Can you believe it?
I had been waiting to find just the right dining room chairs for quite a while now - everything was either too modern or too old fashioned or too expensive or too cheap looking. Finally I found these louis xvi style chairs with a pop of bright blue upholstery on sale at World Market so I finally pulled the trigger. Yea!
I would not normally get such a specific color for an upholstered item but there was something really charming about these. I couldn't stop thinking about them so here they are.
I'm calling it done for now. Quite a long way from where we started. For more before + afters check out the kitchen, master bathroom, office and man cave. Or take a self guided tour here.
Gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteI have been debating these chairs for a while! They look fantastic. Have you had any spills on them yet? Wondering how they wipe up?
ReplyDeleteToo soon to say how they clean up - we just got them this weekend. I have the same concern which is what kept me away from upholstered chairs forever but these were reasonably priced enough that I won't feel like committing murder if they get a stain. I'm going to scotchguard them too. I figure if they get a little grotty in a few years, I could always paint the velvet darker to hide but I'm hoping it never comes to that.
DeleteThe room looks FANTASTIC!!! I love those chairs with that table!
ReplyDeleteI just love your house. The chairs are lovely!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous transformation. Especially love the chairs!
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful. Chairs are a nice pop of color without being too much.
ReplyDeleteLove the blue velvet. The chairs look really comfortable and pair nicely with the damask.
ReplyDeleteWhile not the exact same color as the walls before your transformation, they are a nice nod to the past. Very pretty room.
ReplyDeleteWOOOW! Oozing with character! Amazing job welld done.
ReplyDeleteThe chairs look much better in your photos then on the World's Market website. I wish I had a local World's Market to see their items in person.
ReplyDeleteLovely, just absolutely gorgeous! You really have a gift for creating interiors that are beautifully put together, without looking matchy-matchy and overly "designed". The chairs add a wonderful punch of color while still remaining classic.
ReplyDeleteYou done GOOD! :o)
Oh my GOD! I am in love with these chairs!
ReplyDeleteooooh wow! i love it- those chairs with that table are perfection!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful space! I clicked through the link to your kitchen renovation and was reminded that the kitchen/dining room is a combined space. Would you ever consider a photo showing both completed spaces together in one picture? It would be fun to see how they complement each other! I especially love noting the dates of each transformation, it's a great reminder of how a home evolves over time and also nice to see that, like most of us, the renovation of Brooklyn Limestone isn't happening overnight! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThey are perfect in your beautiful dining room, the blue is beautiful and for some reason comes off more as a neutral color if that makes sense! Seriously looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteThe chairs are perfection and I'm smitten by the color. Beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteSwooning over here. And now dreaming of them in my own dining room sigh. Awesome job! And loved your Seoul pics too. My hubby lived there for two years before we were married. Fun to see it through your eyes!
