Because I just couldn't find a stocking hanger I liked, I had to make one. Another pretty straight forward and cheap project if you have the materials on hand. Who doesn't have some scrap wood and extra paint taking up space somewhere?
I made my own box but a ready made wood planter would have also worked (and made this project a lot faster to complete). I wasn't sure how well it would hold the stockings but it does without even putting anything in the box. If Santa brings you coal or something equally heavy to fill your stocking, you might want to add a brick in the box to be on the safe side.
Cute cute cute!!! Everything you do is sooo adorable!
ReplyDeleteI think I have shared it before, but a friend of mine without a fireplace uses a twin headboard for her stocking holder. She painted it green and distressed it, then stenciled "The stockings were hung" on it. She hangs it up every year and it is really darling.
Thats a great idea.
DeleteIf I had a good free wall for it, I'd totally steal that idea and add a fireplace drawing like this (http://www.eventtrender.com/.a/6a0120a86f70d7970b017d3ebda0e1970c-800wi).
Oh my gosh, that is crazy cute!
DeleteThat is so COOL. You really do amaze me with your talent and taste.

Carpet cleaning in Portsmouth
Did you make the stencil?
ReplyDeleteThis is so great! I love the way you designed it. A local boutique in our area started selling ornament boxes and I have been wanting one. When I have a mantel, I will have one for sure. =)
