And the hits continue...
Maybe I should change this blog's title to the adventures of getting delivery of items Ive paid for months ago? As if I wasn't convinced before, I think this makes me offcially the worst furniture shopper of all time as Ive done it again. Or I should say its been done to me. Drexel Heritage lost my tables! They told me it would take another week or two to find them but they told me that last week and the week before and the week before that. So I cancelled my order. I think its pretty absurb to keep giving companies that have zero regard for my time any more money. Don't you agree?
This is a much lesser deal than the sofa. For one, I can live without these for quite a while. Two, I wasn't quite in love with the accent table as I had found the twig table shortly there after. Lastly, I was never crazy about those acorn ornaments on the corners. It annoys me that I must continue to shop when I thought I was done but its just that - an annoyance.
The accent table that I will use between the two chairs will either be thisFrench Directoire rip-off for a mere $50 or this more expensive alternative. I like them both but I like the price of the first one much better. Anyone have a vote?
But now I must find something to hold up my drinks/magazines/bills/keys/feet while Im entertaining/lounging in front of couch. Anyone have a suggestions of a suitable replacement?
They are both nice, but I like the lesser expensive one, the twiggy one might tip over. But both are lovely!
ReplyDeleteI like the less expensive on e better as well, it is a classic, and I like the glass , I don't like the top of the twig one , and you may tire of it as it is quite a trend and for so much more you are probably better off with the first .
ReplyDeleteI Like the directoire one - a LOT!
ReplyDeleteI agree on the Directoire one too. Great price, a classic, and eventually if you find something you like better, you won't be out a lot. Sorry to hear about the Drexel experience. I really loved that coffee table actually. I thought shopping in our crummy city was bad, but figured NYC would be a shopper's paradise. Sad to hear it isn't!!!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like your dining room table (not exactly, I know) and it has leaves. And the price is right.

ReplyDeleteI’m a regular online buyer in the internet. I ‘m interested in purchasing the storage bed and platform bed from furniturehomedelivery.com. Their unique design and color just caught my eyes. The old bed in my guest room is about time to change it already. It was more than 10 years. My wife suggested that we buy the queen platform bed because she said that it will be more comfortable for our quests. In the mean time I also ordered the leather dining chairs for my home. I’m glad I found this website.
ReplyDeleteI really like the marble top on the twig table, but there are somethings about the cheaper one that I like.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a lucky find! I need to send out an APB for any gardening experts out there!
ReplyDeleteSorry, that cut off before I was finished, that was not a spam post (ha ha).
ReplyDeleteAnyway, LOVE the frames, you are so lucky!
So sorry about the tables, can't believe it!
Hi again, saw this pic and it reminded me of your living room (or what it might look like?)

The table is a glass kind of art deco style. Hope that's inspiring! The Directoire table is a definite go-er. Especially at that price. On the up-side of your furniture nightmares, at least you're saving money, which is always a good (and rare) thing when renovating !
mrs s: Love that room! The shape of the coffee table is lovely but I think I need a second shelf below to hold all my crap (books/mags/etc). At least Im going to try to find one that has a bottom shelf.
ReplyDeletei like the first one WAY better. The twiggy one is a little too much for me. It has just a whiff of old lady.
ReplyDeletecrazy, but check out the twig table in action.

is that the same one?

yep - thats the one. I saw it in a store similar to that one in Brooklyn. I still like it but it will have to go into Phase 2 furniture planning :)
