After much brewhaha, we've welcomed a new member of the limestone furniture family. Meet Mr. Coffee Table.
It arrived quickly and undamaged. Woo-hoo.
I'm really happy with it.
The only thing I don't like about it is that the frame itself would be so much more lovely in a solid brass rather than this sort of bronzey brass finish. But hey, I knew that all along and I have plenty of real brass throughout the house that it works well enough.
Just loving the antiqued mirror that reflects the chandelier above it. Not only is it adding sparkle, but it adds a little dimension.
The bottom shelf is such a great area for display - almost like my own musuem case. I've put in some vintage cameras and magazines for now but its not quite popping for me. What do you think? Any suggestions for a better solution?
She is a beauty. I am in the market for a coffee table.
ReplyDeleteI need to go back and see all your other choices...
pve
Beautiful table. I like the cameras on display under the glass.
ReplyDeleteBTW--where did you get the b&w seating cubes in the picture? Love them.
My husband and I are renovating our 1965 cottage-style house (ourselves --- totally DIY), but are still at studs & sheetrock stage. Currently, we reside in our dining room. It's the only room on the lower level with walls. Fun, right? I just have to keep telling myself it will all be worth it in the end...
Hi Houstonianess - Good luck on your reno. Living through it is hard but it will all be a fuzzy memory when its over. The cubes are from Target.
ReplyDeleteOMG, that coffee table is amazing! Where did you get it!? :)
ReplyDeleteI love the way the coffee table looks, and I like the vintage cameras that you have displayed. I'm so glad that you finally found a good coffee table, and it was delivered as promised!
ReplyDeleteLove the vintage camera touch. I have an old Yashica. I love it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Where did you get your rug? I have been looking for something nuetral, but with a design to it.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Great find for a great price. I love the mirrored surface too! You have a knack for picking really lovely furniture.
ReplyDeleteThe cameras look great - maybe add a low pot of succulents for a pop of green in place of one stack of mags?
Nessabirdie: Its from Bassett Furniture. The link is in the original post I did about it last week.
ReplyDeleteAmy - The rug is Horizon Dawn by Feizy. I don't think its being made anymore based on my quick google search but I didn't do that much looking.
Love the table! Happy for your easy purchase!
ReplyDeleteCan you explain how you have your tv hooked up? Is it totally floating above the floor above those little stools?
The table is gorgeous! It sets off your lovely rug quite nicely. The camera display is very cool and I don't think it needs to be changed. But if you want more color, how about a bright ceramic bowl filled with those woven twig balls for texture? (Bad description but you'll probably know what I mean).
ReplyDeleteAmy - When we renovated, I had an electrical outlet and a cable hookup put where each television would go. The cable runs in the wall into the cabinet in the next room where I keep my tivo box.
ReplyDeleteLove the new table! And those vintage cameras are fabulous! And I do love the mirrored bottom and how it reflects the light - love it!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful, just perfect for your living room. How about a lovely sculpture or a low pottery piece?
ReplyDeleteI like the coffee table. I think that you are right that the cameras aren't working...they're a little heavy. I think maybe grouping of pillar candles (how original) and maybe some books on the top of table along with the magazines.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great!! I love the color of it too- I think its a great change from the shiny brass. I'm so glad it finally worked out for you after all the issues you had with finding the perfect one :)
ReplyDeleteAh! I love it! It looks great! So happy to hear that it arrived in one piece and not 3 months late. Just lovely!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I like the cameras but it's easy enough to change on a whim. Glad you finally found something that worked.
ReplyDeletethat is a GREAT table- see, all those other tables were just distractions until you could find this one.
ReplyDeletemaybe you can add something underneath that would bring out the brassy instead of the bronzy?
wow, that's some goood grammar!
IT TURNED OUT AMAZING!! Seriously, I love it! And I love that it was on sale. Even better!
ReplyDeleteLove the table- I think the cameras are a nice touch, but they are a touch heavy where they are. Perhaps moving them to the other side, away from the cubes to balance out the blacks...currently it seems like that side is very tilted to black.
ReplyDeleteIt looks amazing. I'm happy to know that it arrived without any drama. A white lacquer tray with some fresh cut flowers and a candle would look lovely on top of the table. What do you think? I think the white will make the all of the white trim you have in the living room pop.
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect! Especially love the mirrored shelf.
ReplyDeleteone more question about the tv - so do you have to point your remote to another room to flip around? you also have your cable and dvd player in another room? is it annoying or does it work out ok?
ReplyDeleteIm just a big tv watcher and curious about this for someday in my home!
Thanks for the info!
I love it! I have two vintage cameras, but I haven't really done anything with them. Thanks for giving me some inspiration!
ReplyDeleteAmy - it took a little while to get it all set up properly but it works fine now. I don't have to point the remote into the other room now but even if I did, it would be well worth not having wires everywhere. And if you can't tell, I'm a big tv watcher too. Its no big deal to have the cable box in the other room - I never touched the box before so I don't now either.
ReplyDeleteIt love it!!!
ReplyDeleteyou know....As I look at it, you are sooo right. That finish is not working at all...way trying to hard to look old. Nope. No good.
ReplyDeleteYep. Go ahead...send it to Florida.
That should take care of that finish problem. Yes siree.
;~)
I love it. It's perfect for your space!
ReplyDeleteThe table looks wonderful! I really like it and wish I could have one too! Excellent choice!!!!
ReplyDeleteA fantastic choice in tables. I love it!
ReplyDeleteBe still my heart.... I love it!! oh how I wish I could put this in my formal living room.
ReplyDeleteI didn't like the picture when you posted it the first time but I LOVE it now that you have it in place. It really works well with everything you have and the edges that I thought were really odd give it the perfect amount of charm.
ReplyDeleteCarla
beautiful! it looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Perfect in the space... the mirror in the bottom is perfect for the lighting overhead. Well done, thank goodness you finally got one!
ReplyDeletelove the table..are you putting anything on top?
ReplyDeleteLove the table it is perfect , well worth the wait , I was telling a client to go onto Kijiji and get a light , well she missed it , it was gone , I just told there must be something better out there for her then , just like what happened with your table .
ReplyDeleteBeautiful , so fine and pretty .
