With the exception of one misinformed comment and some tv hating, the comments have been really sweet. Phew! I don't think the sensitive amateur designer in me could take too much bashing. I'll keep my fingers crossed it stays that way :)
And speaking of special guests, I have a guest series for you Im really excited about. As a hard core house porn and blog addict, I'm always looking for ways to feed my both addictions at the same time. Starting Monday, Im kicking off the "My Favorite Nook" series where I've asked some of the most stylish bloggers to share their favorite corner/room/spot. And luckily for me, some of them actually responded!
While I love a good design mag, nothing is quite as wonderful as seeing a personal real life space along with the story behind it. So I hope you enjoy this series as much as I did!
I asked each contributer to answer the following questions:
1. What/where is it?
2. Why is it your favorite?
3. How have you made it your own?
4. If you could change one thing, what would it be?
A big thanks to those who were kind enough to share. They are none other than the fabulous:

A few are coming next week with a few more later this month. If you like the series, please let me know. I'd love to keep it going!
Just wanted to say that it is not lost on us how much guts it takes to open up your home to the interwebs and unedited comments. We totally admire that. You have great taste and have done a beautiful job. Your passion, hard work and bravery = a real treat for us devotees. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteOooooo, those are some of my favorite blogs too! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the Apt. Therapy feature -- very cool!
Oh Stef, I'm so happy for you! What a fantastic feature!
ReplyDelete*whisper* I think you did a better job photographing your kitchen. Their photos of the built is are fantastic!
Your house is beautiful, how could people not love it?!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I think this new series is a great idea. I love home design blogs, so this is a great way to find some new people to follow and get ideas.
Congratulations! You definitely deserved to be feature - your home is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the new feature!

What a great tour on AT! Your house looks AMAZING and what a fun read. You know, re: the t.v. hatin', I just don't get why people have such a hard time with televisions. I mean, we all watch them, they are "real life" and that's why I love your home. It's real and still REALLY beautiful! Had this been for a decor mag, I would bet they would Photoshop the tv out for a piece of artwork and that would look fine, but so unrealistic IMO. I just want to plop down on that sofa with a glass of wine to watch the Bachelor season finally (blushing)!
ReplyDeleteWOW! What a tremendous compliment to you. Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful....congrats to you...
ReplyDeleteThe series sounds like such fun...can't wait...
All the best,
Kathy :)
Congratulations! It looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering who your guest was when you mentioned it awhile ago! A big congratulations and any comments that are less than kind...well, are they being featured?! Looking forward to the series and thrilled to be included...Janell
ReplyDeleteI loved your house; I loved it more so because your design aesthetic is similar to mine and it gave me so many fabulous ideas ... quite an inspiration. I think I viewed the slides show at Apartment Therapy like 35 times.
ReplyDeleteYours is my favorite AT house tour to date. With all of the white walls that are so chic right now, I must say it is so REFRESHING to see beautiful colors in a beautiful home.
ReplyDeleteEh, there's a jealous, misinformed hater in every bunch. Hate does NOT look good on anyone. As far as AT comments go, you did well!
Congrats on the feature!
ReplyDeleteOooh how fun! Those are some of my favorite bloggers, so I can't wait to see what they came up with :)
Very excited to see the results. It does make the experience very personal!

ReplyDeleteSo many congrats to you! You deserve it. And I love that you're so much more than just the house. I'm all for some great house porn, but the fact that you're not one dimensional is what keeps me coming back. I'm going to pop over there and read it now.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Stef - you deserve a standing ovation. Your home is lovely and second-to-none with your beautiful touches!! xo Terri
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the finished product. Thanks so much for including me!

Job well done! But agree...your photos are even better. loved seeing the floorplan...I don't know why I thought it was all on one floor..dar! The stained glass skylight is gorgeous. Such a classy space!
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of the nooks...as a matter of fact, I have thought of that before...just seeing little fun peaks into everyones homes is RIGHT up my alley!
Congrats~ don't worry about the haters! They're just jealous!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the well-deserved honour. I'm crazy in love with your house, and all the choices you made in the amazing renovation. And ditto The Stamford Wife's comments re the TV. It's your home for goodness sake. Not a museum. It's super gutsy to put yourself out there, and I applaud you for it. And I'm so looking forward to the new feature.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful feature on your place. So well deserved too.
ReplyDeleteSo unbelievably exciting - and well deserved! Congratulations. Excited about the series - these are some of my favorite types of post! Marija
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the big news! All of us bloggers would kill to get our home featured on AT! Although you have to be brave too some of the comments I have read there from time to time can be brutal with a capitol B! The tv comment was hilarious, because how silly is it to have a tv when most of us sit around read, listen to classical music and write poetry right!? You should be extra proud for all the wonderful and well deserved comments!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! I am very happy for you, your home is just amazing :)
ReplyDeleteHow cool! Congrats on the feature and I look forward to the new series!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! What a fun experience it must have been for you!
ReplyDeleteWay to go! That is quite an honor!!! LOVE your bedroom and kitchen!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! I want to be you when I grow up. Or at least have AT over for a house tour when we're finally finished. That's so cool!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being on AT Wow!! What a wonderful thing to happen for you. I love the new series of guest bloggers you have lined up. I will look forward to coming back,Kathysue

Mrs. Limestone, That very same AT post is what brought me to your blog in the first place. I have, in fact, let my own blog go unattended for for the last week because I've been glued to this little slice of heaven. Your self expression in home, words, and photos is enviable. Please keep it up!
