One of the fabulous women I got to meet last week was Amy of ABCD Design. I've been following her for ages so my crush is no surprise. I happened to mention to her how I was IN LOVE with the way she decorated her last apartment (she is on to bigger and better projects now) but couldn't find the photos. She graciously sent them on and just I had to share.
Amy is a woman of many talents but this place just blows me away. Those posters are making me swoon. I just love how she stacked them up the wall to really make the most of the high ceilings.
I love how her living room is accessorized enough to feel adorned but not so much it feels overwelmed with trinkets. I feel pretty confident about my own skills but I am seriously lacking when ti comes to finishing to a perfect polish as she has done.
Hello gorgeous, thy name is ABCD. Pop over her place to see all of her stylish musings.
I love all of those vintage posters stacked in the first photo. What a great, bold look!
ReplyDeleteI love how that traditional couch looks so modern in this space! Also, that kitchen is gorg with that soapstone countertop.... I'm in love :)
ReplyDeleteOh Mrs. Limestone... you m'dear have absolutely made my day!
ReplyDeleteThank you ever-so-much for featuring a project so near and dear to my heart. It's always a wee bit scary to have your own home out there on the internet for one and all to love or loathe publicly!
I am incredibly flattered by your compliments. My style has certainly evolved over time. It's an amalgamation of things that me and the Mr. love = which, I believe it how it should be. It always kills me when I see photos of rooms that look like they've been slapped together via one stop shopping, you know?
One's home is an ultimate reflection of one's personality. If you live with what you love, it's bound to be a happy place to come home to, right?
Thanks again, this is truly a dream for me to be featured on your blog ~ Gosh, I love your style, so this feels like quite a blessing!

P.S. For anyone who asks: This apartment was in Soho, we have since sold this place and have purchased a little house about 90miles out of the City and keep a little postage stamp sized rental on Manhattan.
Wow, I want to live here. It is the perfect blend of classic and whimsy. It is truly personalized. I adore it!
ReplyDeleteOoooooooh! I love this abode! All those great advertising posters...yummie! And love her comment too...my kinda gal. Going over to meet her now!
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous. Do you know what the bathroom picture reminds me of? Your first go at doing one of *your* bathrooms!! Remember? And you painted over it.....
ReplyDeleteLoving that white chesterfield and how the bath was done...especially the tub.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, going to check her out!
Love, love, love this house!
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding me..that room is to die for! So dramatic with the mirrors and high ceilings.
ReplyDeleteWow! I can see why you have a crush! That apartment is to die for.
ReplyDeleteI love this space! Perfect combo of shabby & chic. This would be my dream space!!!
ReplyDeleteThose posters are awesome and playful and definitely help a really large space feel intimate!
ReplyDeleteModern Country: The color that was in my bathroom was dark poop brown - no joke. This bathroom's shade is way nicer than that.
ReplyDeleteAmazing. Love the mirror wall- it's mirrors, right? The pops of color- all of it.
ReplyDeleteTwo words: Love. It. Wish I could take a bath in that tub. Miss Amy is one talented little lady.
ReplyDeleteI really like how she furnished the living space. I agree; polished and accessorized but still simplistic and understated. Well done.

Truly this is great design--just the right amount of editing...just the right dose of color...just the right amount of hip. You know it's good when you can close your eyes and envision it yet. Thanks for sharing ABCD with us!
ReplyDeleteI love Amy's space!! It is GORGEOUS!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, Amy has some serious style skills, and I love how refined the final look is. Can't wait to see what she does in their new place.
ReplyDelete@modern country style ~ my bathroom was chelsea grey, a historical color by benjamin moore. It's nice and warm - I loved it so much that I painted our new dining room that color! :D
ReplyDelete@sugar, yep! That is a wall covered in 48 mirrors! We first painted it black, and then hung them with a laser level. It was cool because they didn't read as a mirror, they simply reflected the cast iron Soho buildings across the street. It wasn't like "hey look at me in the mirror" ~ it just read as a window making light bounce around the space because we mimicd the exact proportions of the windows in the rest of the apartment
Thanks everyone for all your sweet comments! It's truly an honor to be featured on Mrs. Limestone's blog. Really and truly!!

ReplyDeleteI love your blog! I'm a recently college grad from Oklahoma that just moved to NYC in June and am going through the struggle of finding great things for my very bland apartment (on a limited budget no less). Your blog is completely inspiring and is giving me great ideas. Hopefully all of my hard work will eventually pay off just like yours is!
ReplyDeleteWOW it's the kitchen i want :))))))))))
