Matt took these everyday items...
...worked his culinary hocus pocus to transform all that into this:
Wow. Wow. Wow. I'm dying to try this. Read all the details at his blog.So tell me the truth - is making candied apples a lot harder than Mr. Matt is making it seem? It can't be as simple it sounds. Is it worth me investing in a candy thermometer or should I just leave this task to the pros?

Lovely greetings...
What a fun DIY idea! Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love the apples. They look really cool.
ReplyDeleteOh sweet! I can't wait to try it out! What a perfect idea for Halloween treats. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteMatt is a GENIUS and the nicest man you'll ever meet. That said, his husband made the apples, and Adam is a food stylist extraordinaire, so while it might not be that hard to do (but use a candy thermometer), your apples probably won't come out looking quite so amazing.
ReplyDeleteIt really isn't that hard. I make candied apples, caramel apples and popcorn balls to give to trick-or-treaters for Halloween. I'll be posting tutorials on my blog soon, if you'd like to stop by. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteAmazing. I'm so doing this.
ReplyDeleteThese are very cool looking apples....I suspect they are harder to make than they look...but that's me...I would have the toffee everywhere but on the apples....xv
ReplyDeleteThe apples look absolutely amazing and delicious! I too suspect that making candied apples is much harder than it looks but I've never tried my hand it.
ReplyDeleteWhat BEAUTIFUL sugary goodness!!!
ReplyDeleteSo awesome! I really really want to make them - but as decor! I could never eat that many, really. My teeth would stage an uprising. I wonder if they last out on a counter?
ReplyDeleteIf it doesn't work you could always roll them in candy crystals to fix the flaws;)
ReplyDeleteThese are AMAZING! What a glamorous Halloween treat.
ReplyDeleteohhh those are so cool! I am stealing this idea for sure! Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not actually all up on the halloween decorations, but these are amazing! Then again, I'm a sucker for high gloss, and these babies have some sheen! Thanks for the link.
ReplyDeleteThose look yummy and super cool with the high gloss!
