Hi everyone! I'm back in the flesh. Have you missed me? You probably guessed already but I was living it up down under. Yes, Australia! We had a great trip and of course I can't wait to share it but today I have bigger fish to fry.

After several amazing weeks off, I'm starting a new job today. Same industry but new company. I wanted the job, was so happy to get the offer and give my notice. So why am I'm stressing? I know almost no one and nothing about how things work there. I was at my last company for 9 years so starting fresh is somewhat daunting. Not to mention I'll likely have to work my tail off at first just to keep my head above water. So yea, I'm having a mini panic attack about the whole thing. So if you could send some mental good thoughts my way that would be very much appreciated.
My plan is to write up posts on weekends and after hours so nothing should be changing here.
Once again a huge thank you to the following bloggers who shared their favorite nooks and kept this place warm while I was gone.

ReplyDeleteA huge congratulations! I'm certain things will fall into place and also can't wait to see your photos of Australia and here about where you went. I'm hoping to get there later this year! Janell

ReplyDeleteWelcome back. I am a new subscriber and can't wait to see what you have in store. I have always wanted to make a trip to Australia and am contemplating heading over there later this year. Good luck with the new job! A couple weeks from now you will be wondering why you were ever stressing in the first place.

Congrats on the new job! I know you'll be fantastic. Thanks again for having me here to share my nook. Loved reading everyone's! And now I can't wait to hear about your trip!!
ReplyDeletegoooooood luck!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! Having been where you are in starting a new job, my best advice is to do your homework. I knew nothing about the industry I found myself working in, and for about a month, I read everything I could get my hands on. It paid off! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I've been in this industry for 16 years now so I'm up to speed - it's just the specifics of this job I'm new to.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new gig! Sending positive vibes and thoughts your way.
ReplyDeleteBTW, Mrs. L, my husband is a Steinway Artist and one of his many specialities is creating chill out music. His name is Kevin Kern. Check him out on Pandora or iTunes. It should help if you just need to take a breath. (Sorry for the shameless plug, but people say it all the time about his work so I thought it might help. You're sounding stressed.)
Best wishes, Pam
Congrats on the new job! Will look forward to more Aussie pics! I just recently added you to my RSS feed and I am enjoying it very much!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new job! I know you'll rock it!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new job! I always dislike those first few days...you're either stuck in meetings, not understanding the lingo, feeling like a fish out of water, or left to figure things out on your own because everyone else is too busy to explain things to you. Hope you get to understand the lay of the land soon!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the new job. I understand the panic part, I am just thinking of leaving my job that I've had for 12 years and I am getting emotional and not sleeping.
ReplyDeleteI am sure you will settle in nicely. I think any change takes about 3 weeks before you are comfortable.
Congratulations on your new job! Just remember: Your hard work got you where you are and your hard work will sustain you. Chin up & Best of luck!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the new job! The first few weeks are always tough, but I have no doubt you will be in the swing of things quickly. Can't wait to read about Australia!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your new job! Glad to have kept your blog warm while you were down under!
