Sometimes (usually while Im on my way to work, crammed into a subway car with the unwashed masses, on my way to a job I barely tolerate) I daydream of having another profession. Aside from full time blogger or martha stewart like mogul, I sometimes wonder if I would enjoy being a photographer. La - de - da.
Then I try to complete a simple task like taking one decent shot of my own cat wearing this adorable preppy tie. After much trying, I walk away defeated.
Reality strikes again. Happy Monday!
haha that is cute. Your cat is also cute :-) Keep dreaming and if you want to do something different, just practice and then go for it!!
ReplyDeleteI'll join you in the pet photography biz. Just another soul-crushing day at the office! Happy monday!
ReplyDeleteHahhahah! Oh, I hear ya. Every time I try to take a picture of my dog Jackson in a great pose, he moves about 1/100th of a second before I click the button. I almost always end up with the side of his head or a close-up of his ear. He's absolutely NOT a camera ham! I have much better luck with action shots, when he's too busy having fun to know I'm snapping his picture :-)
ReplyDeleteI'd say you got some pretty good pictures of your cat :-)
Cat photography may be the most difficult job of all time. These turned out precious though. :) Love his handsome little bowtie.
ReplyDeleteYour kitty is adorable! Makes me wish one of our kitties was a boy so we could get him a tie collar.
ReplyDeleteI won't tell anyone if you won't :)
ReplyDeleteI don't know what life has in store for me but I dont think I'll be chucking my day job anytime soon. Something about suffering through it for 15 years and walking around doesn't seem to make much sense to me despite what the inspirational posters say. It would be lovely to love my job but I dont think that is reasonable expectation for the vast majority of us mere mortals. :)
ReplyDeleteso gosh darn adorable!! love the whole series of kitty photos.
ReplyDeleteHaha I totally agree. Plus I think that people who quit their jobs to do 'what they love' often end up not loving what they do because..uh...it's now a JOB! :-)
ReplyDeleteLook at that handsome guy! Lately a cat that looks a lot like yours has been hanging around our house. He's super friendly - so I call him "Mr. Limestone".
ReplyDeleteOne of my cats does the same thing, she is so hard to get photos of. While my other cat literally poses for me. It's quite hilarious.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday to you, too!
Ahh....pretty cute cat! I love your shots...
ReplyDeleteThis doesn't look like defeat! I love that first shot of your kitty.
ReplyDeleteMy kitty would be very angry if I tried to put a tie on him. Also, the only decent shots I can get of him are when he's sleeping. Cat's are un-photographable.
Hahaha that is sooooo adorable

Cat's are the most inconsiderate subjects - but too cute to not shoot! Your cat is so handsome.
ReplyDeleteYou definitely have a gift for photography, even if some felines don't cooperate. Photographing my cats is next to impossible.
ReplyDeleteDid you make the tie? Its so cute!
No, I didn't make it. Bought it a night market in Taiwan (where incidently they take dressing up their dogs really seriously!)
ReplyDeleteI thought about making my own after I had tortured him with a Target bowtie but when I saw this ready made, I jumped on it.
LOL. If you want to be a photographer, I would suggest starting with an easier subject. One that doesn't hiss and walk away at random. Thanks for the laugh!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I think we're led to believe we must LOVE our jobs but sometimes it's just not true. Plus, I want to love my LIFE not my JOB and for me, those two things can be very separate. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI feel like getting a good cat picture is like pulling teeth!
ReplyDeleteI relate to this post...dreaming of going to a different job during the morning commute on the stinky subway instead of a soul crushing office...of course, I also relate to dressing up our cats!
ReplyDeleteI love that tie! Where did you get it? I need one for my cat Otis aka "the beast".
ReplyDeleteI feel you on the job thing. I'm always trying to think of anything else I could possibly do other than my job. I like my job, but I'd quit in a minute if I could do anything else that made as much money. Full time blogging would be way too hard for me. I don't know how you come up with new and creative things all the time. Maybe you're not the best pet photographer, but I think your photos are amazing and look like they could be in a magazine easily.
Well said!
ReplyDeleteAwe, he is such a cutie!!! They are really hard to photograph...
ReplyDeleteThe pictures turned out great. Although you may not like your current job, your blog is lovely and helps distract those of us that are also unhappy with the job situation.
ReplyDeletehahaha This just made me laugh out loud in my office. Thank you! I know - cats are the hardest to take good pictures of. The trick is to get them while they are sleeping. Then they can't bat you in the eye.
ReplyDeleteI am dying laughing at this picture. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI need to get that tie for my cat Breeze! For some reason he loves taking pics. He just appears when he hears the camera! I was able to get a nice picture of him and I had it enlarged for my gallery wall.
ReplyDeleteHaha I totally agree. Plus I think that people who quit their jobs to do 'what they love' often end up not loving what they do because..uh...it's now a JOB! :-)
