17 years together, 38 countries visited and 993 blog posts later, Baby Limestone is expected to make it's big debut this December.
I'm coming up on 14 weeks and its been quite an emotional and physical roller coaster. All to be expected but certainly turning our lives upside down already. Now that we have made it through the first trimester, I've made a promise to myself that I'm going to start focusing on the fun stuff and put all the scary stuff out of my mind. (Up until now I haven't even been able to write even a sentence in a journal or even think about nursery colors.)
I hope you'll like hearing all about nursery planning, memory keeping and other bundles of joy here. I promise to keep the less than adorable stuff to a minimum.
Congratulations! I'm sure it will be your most beautiful project yet!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!! Hope you're feeling well!

ReplyDeleteAmy
Congratulations! What wonderful news. My children are both December babies...it's the most wonderful time of year ;~)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sara. The ultimate irony is that our baby is due Christmas week which would make any big birthday parties pretty impossible. Poor kid will never get a proper blow out. Oh well, thats the way the cookie crumbles :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I've been following the blog for a while know and KNEW this announcement was coming! Very exciting times ahead! My daugher was born Jan 19, 2012 -welcome to the club!

ReplyDeleteMany, many congratulations! And, uh, I can't WAIT for the nursery :-) (delurking over here!)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! This is fantastic news! Best wishes!
ReplyDeleteYay! Congratulations! I remember the nervousness of that first trimester, but finally being able to tell everyone definitely made it feel more real. Of course, the worrying never completely goes away as there's always that next milestone or ultrasound to focus on...but my advice is to allow yourself to enjoy the ride and be excited! (At 35 weeks, I still have to tell myself that!) Can't wait for all the upcoming baby/nursery posts!
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you!
ReplyDeleteyeah!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteAww, congratulations!! What an awesome DIY project! It'll be the cutest for sure! :)
ReplyDeletexo! Vanessa
yay, yay, yay!!! so very excited for you...and for us, because now we get to watch you design a nursery!! And no fear, we take the first year of baby's life off from traveling, but still take one big one a year after that. That's what grandparents are for! :) Hope you're feeling well, and looking forward to following along!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Have you seen the film 'what to expect when you're expecting' -it looks funny!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I had a suspicion when you posted the "Bump Ahead" picture months back that you had a secret. :-) So happy for you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you and Mr. Limestone! What wonderful news and exciting times. Can't wait to hear more about your journey.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh! Congratulations! Such exciting news!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!!! The best advice I ever received was to Stop Reading!!!! (all the pregnancy books). They made me crazy worried when I didn't need to be. Enjoy the ride. It is a ton of fun!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! That is such exciting news. I hope you have an easy and healthy second and third trimesters!!
ReplyDeleteWAHOOOOOO! Congrats to you both...now, which room will you be using? : )
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I cannot wait to see what you do for the nursery! I will be praying for a healthy pregnancy!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you and Mr. Limestone! How exciting for the both of you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! Can't wait to see the nursery :)
ReplyDeleteMichelle H.
That gave me goosebumps, congratulations!!! Your limestone will never be the same when that little one appears (I have 2 little boys, so I know). Enjoy every single moment as this is a long term newsworthy project!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! That's wonderful news. I can't wait to see the nursery. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you both!! Congrats :)
ReplyDeleteOMG! This is amazing news on a dreary shore house morning. :-) Thanks for brightening the day...and a huge congratulations!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! So exciting
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I understand the fear that goes with a new pregnancy. I promise it gets easier as you hit your stride.
ReplyDeleteso sweet ! Congrats.everything will go smoothly & wish you both the very best!
ReplyDeleteYay! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh.......what fantastic news! Can't wait to follow along with your big project.
ReplyDeleteWow congrats ! I am 16 1/2 weeks myself and feel exactly the way you do. Especially when it comes to talking about baby related things. Good luck, God bless and a happy & healthy 9 (10 lol) months !!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I've been following your blog for a long time and looking forward to following you now during this exciting time, especially since I'm due with my first 12/25. I too feel terrible that their birthday will be around Christmas, I"m hoping the baby will be early, so maybe they're at least still in school.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful news! Congratulations! So happy for you two!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I'm so excited for you! I'm still new to it (10 months so far), but being a mom is the scariest and most rewarding "project" I've ever been part of--you're going to love it (not every sleepless moment, mind you, but overall). You and Mr. Limestone have collected a wealth of experience over the years that I know you'll love sharing with Baby Limestone. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!! So happy for you.
ReplyDeleteYAY !!!!!!!!!! So very excited for you and Mr. Limestone!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you have planned for the nursery too :)
Yeah yeah yeah!! Congratulations and can't wait to see this project as it develops!
ReplyDeleteIm hoping it can be a little late (i say that now, im sure ill curse myself come december) so we can at least get to the first week in Jan. Still not ideal but at least 2 weeks from Christmas is better than that week. But either way, I'm not going to get too worked up about it.
ReplyDeleteEasier said than done. Im one of those people that would rather know than stay in the dark (even if it makes me crazy)
ReplyDeleteWell you must be psychic b/c even I didn't know back then. I honestly just thought the sign was funny.
ReplyDeleteWell we don't have the kind of parents that would be able to watch our baby so he/she will just have to come with us!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I feel like most of my friends didn't have the same kind of worries about something being wrong as I have had. But Im just more of a worried/nervous personality. Its good to know I'm not the only one :)
ReplyDeleteHa. How did you know?
ReplyDeleteThats actually a bit of a disagreement here. I want to use the guest room, the hubs wants to use the little room. The battle continues.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Mrs. Limestone. We're expecting our 8th baby on January 13th. I'm so looking forward to watching you prepare for baby Limestone. This motherhood trip will be the best one you have ever taken. Enjoy every minute of it.
ReplyDeleteSo very happy for you Stefanie & Mr. Limestone! My brother was born on Dec.29 and yes, as a youngster he got a bit of a raw deal when it came to birthday attention. But last year, I threw a Pancakes and Pajamas birthday party a few weeks before the holidays and found it was a great way to spend time with just our immediate family and celebrate my baby bro (yes, he's 30 and I still call him baby bro). I'm sure you'll find a way to make your little one's day special, no matter when he or she arrives.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to all the DIY & decorating goodness to come. These babies have a way of pressuring you to get all the home projects done!
Wow, congratulations! Try and enjoy it; easier said than done, I know. I was one of those moms-to-be who worried about everything, so I understand 100%. Looking forward to hearing about your new adventure! -Kerri, A Pop of Pretty
ReplyDeleteI've been away from blog-land for a few months and your post is the first one I read...HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! This is so exciting, I can't wait to see the coming changes at Casa Limestone.
ReplyDeleteI'm a faithful reader, but never commenter - but I am excited to wish you good luck and congratulations on your big news!
ReplyDeleteAhhhhhhhhhh! That's so exciting! Congrats and hope you're feeling great! Clara is the bump whisperer, so if we see you in person she can touch your belly and call if it's a boy or a girl. So far she has an 100% success rate! Haha.
ReplyDeletexoxoxo,
Sherry (& John & Clara & Burger)
CongratULATIONS!!!! I took four pregnancy tests and then went to the doc's office to ask for a "real" pregnancy test but the doctor asked me, "How many tests did you take?" I said, "Four." "Were they all positive?" "Yes." "Congratulations. You're pregnant." Ha! He said the test wasn't necessary. And he's right... I have a babe sleeping upstairs right now ;-) Again, congratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! So excited to follow your baby related posts! Not that you are asking my opinion, but my vote is for the small room until baby is ready for a "big boy/girl bed". Only because it allows you to have a nicer guest room for a longer stretch of time. Hopefully you will have some visitors (friends/relatives) around to share the special time with. You will want them to be comfy so they stick around longer! I have a 2 yo and a 10 mo, they both like cozy sleeping spaces.
ReplyDeleteHa. My doctor didn't test me either after I told him how many test I took (and he stopped laughing!)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the both of you!!! I knew you had to be pregnant when I read the title. Wonderful news :).
ReplyDeleteOMG I'M SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!!!! Congrats!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulation! It took us 7 years to get pregnant with our first biological child and I took an overabundance of pregnancy tests too! Very exciting!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome, congrats! I'm just a couple weeks ahead of you with my first, also, due December 5!
ReplyDeleteOh how freaking cool is this! I can't wait to see where parenthood takes you!!! (Also, I'm excited for your kid who will no doubt have the traveling gene!)
ReplyDeleteMy oldest was born on December 29th. What's great about it is A) tax deduction in 2012 B) He/She will probably be home on the birthday- even when in college!
ReplyDeleteI agree. If you use the small room and later want to move him/her to the guest room, you will be able to redecorate the guest room without disruption.
ReplyDeleteHuge congratulations! I was at a similar place 5 years ago...same number of years but not quite as many countries traveled or blog posts written. I want to encourage you to FULLY embrace and enjoy this time. I also waited to tell anyone and couldn't believe it had finally happened, even after seeing my little guy for the first time. I wish I had embraced the time more and hope that you will for you!
ReplyDeleteHooray!! Congrautlations! I'm expecting a boy on Nov. 5th! So excited to read about your journey.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful news! One thing for sure, your kid will have the coolest Halloween memories.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS!!!! So so happy for you, I cant WAIT to read all about the planning of the nurdery etc!!
ReplyDeleteFantastic news! I am so excited to see your nursery ideas! Selfishly- I'd love it if you could post them soon. I'm getting closer on our modern/rustic nursery, but I'd love a little inspiration from you before we get started. Our little nugget is due in October. http://oneprojectatatime.blogspot.com/2012/06/nursery-planning.html
ReplyDeleteWonderful news, congrats!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Best wishes for great health for you and your little one!
ReplyDeleteSo exciting! I will love reading about you, as a professional adventurer, undertaking this next big adventure. Congratulations :)
ReplyDeleteAmazing news !!!! Wow, I'm just so so happy for you and can't wait to watch your journey - welcome to the motherhood club, yay!
ReplyDeleteKate
Congratulations! I've been a reader since almost the beginning but rarely comment - I figured this called for an exception :) Parenting is the most challenging, yet the single most rewarding thing you will ever do in your life. So happy for you and Mr. Limestone today!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on Baby Limestone!! Woop Woop!!
ReplyDeletexo,

Congratulations! very exciting and you will surely find that it will be not only your biggest DIY, but your best!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteYAY YAY YAY!! Call it mom instinct but I've been waiting for a post like this from you, don't ask me why......just had a feeling. Though we've never met IRL, is it possible to feel this happy & emotional for you, Mr L & Baby L?!! Yes, yes it is. I adore you & am so elated, my words aren't enough to articulate my joy for you guys.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing parts of this wild ride with us! ::crossing my fingers that you'll share every last detail you feel comfortable sharing:: Happy & healthy months ahead to you!!
P.S. Mr FC & I had been together for 12 yrs by the time Quinn made her arrival. I will never forget those memories as a twosome (threesome counting our pooch)......but now there's a different, more divine layer of meaning behind our memories.
CONGRATS!!!!
OMG! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing news! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!
ReplyDeleteI am due with my second the day after you! Best wishes!
Congratulations! Amazing news :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new adventure!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you both.
ReplyDeleteMid-winter birthdays are kinda tough and you have to make an extra, conscious effort to keep them separate. My birthday is Jan 4 and my sister's birthday is Dec 10. As kids, neither of us really got the kind of birthday attention that
ReplyDeleteour brothers (who were born in the summer) were able to snag.
We sometimes compare notes and try to decide who has the worse birthday timing. We decided that earlier is only slightly better than later. Her birthday is a bit overshadowed by both Thanksgiving and Christmas, but people are ramping up for the holidays during her birthday so everyone is in a festive mood. My birthday feels more separate from the holidays, but by the time it rolls around, a lot of people are burnt out on parties, hungover, and/or ready for a bit of hibernation.
Big little news indeed! Oh I wanna see THOSE baby announcements!
ReplyDeleteThe best to you and yours through this exciting journey! And, because this is what I do in real life, (lactation Consultant, Midwives asst) don't hesitate to call upon me!
Congrats to the newest littl limestone brick!
congratulations! such wonderful news.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I hope you share the journey with us.
ReplyDeleteK
Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteSqueeeeee! I was oddly thinking about that the other day - if you were gunna have a baby or if traveling it up was your baby. I'm super excited for you - congratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteSO thrilled for you two. Baby Limestone couldn't ask for better parents. And I can't wait to follow your pregnancy and your nursery planning. I hope you are feeling well and able to enjoy this special time. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteOh so happy for you both!! You are in for the adventure of your life! I hope the rest of your pregnancy is a breeze!
ReplyDeleteLonden
Big congrats!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! So happy for you and Mr. Limestone.....love your blog.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! Hope you are feeling top notch soon :) can't wait to follow along
ReplyDeletecongratulations! that is so exciting!!
ReplyDeleteAwww congrats! My twins are Dec 26th babies-who are now 26 years old!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your preggo time-it goes very, very fast :)
Fun to read your post as I just heard today, this very moment, that our daughter is expecting her first after several difficulties. And she is in her 14th week, due on December 31. I shall be following you with interest.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
Congratulations..!!! I have 2 December "babies". This is indeed very exciting news. All my best to the Limestone household.
ReplyDeleteAs a long-time reader, I just have to say that I am SO EXCITED to see this news! Can't wait to see what you do with the nursery, birthday parties, all of it! Yay!
ReplyDeleteMrs. Limestone you aren't kidding this is the biggest DIY to date! I am so envious that your baby will get to live in your masterpiece and have such a smart + crafty Mom. Biggest congrats to you both and I hope we see some bump pics soon;)
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!! Have fun with this... it is the BEST diy!
ReplyDeleteBTW my girls birthdays are Dec. 29 and Dec. 31. I always kept their birthdays seperate from Christmas because after all their birthday's are special too. The biggest problem was money and being exhausted by then.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Hope you are doing well.
ReplyDeleteYay!!! I'm very excited for you! I am currently 19 weeks preggers (Due 11/18) and have been reading your blog for a while. Love your home and all your inspirational projects!! I also have the travel bug and I would have to say for me, it's the only bummer. I guess I'll be staying a lot closer to home for a few years. And I'm so happy you made it through the first trimester! It was tough for me to keep it a secret and of course, every little thing had me worried!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS!!!!!!
Congrats!!!
ReplyDeleteNot that you want my opinion, but you could put baby in guest room, move guest room to your office, and then put your office in box room/ basement. It seems like a long term option.
Congrats!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you two :)! I'm fairly new to the design blog world, but I've found your projects, photos, and links to be so beautiful and inspiring over the last 6 months. I'm sure you're hearing plenty of this already, but when I was prego with my daughter 4 years ago, she was a 'surprise' and came when we weren't ready at all, and I was terrified and distraught beyond description. Things only got better and better, and she is life's greatest joy to me. I'm wishing you all the best with this pregnancy and that peace has a way of coming over and resting with you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! Wonderful news.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see photos of the baby's space.
Thanks for reading Laurel. I think I might have confused everyone with the photos of the multiple tests though. I didn't take lots of tests because I couldn't believe I was pregnant but rather I was making sure it was sticking around. We were trying for him or her.
ReplyDeleteWe planned this so we sort of knew we'd have to curtail our travel a bit. That said, we are still taking a few trips this year. I would have really loved to go back to Thailand for my 35th birthday in October but despite my doctor saying it would be fine, I'm worried I couldn't relax. So we're leaving the exotic stuff off the table for a little while. Who knows what will happen once the baby is here but I'm hoping we can turn him/her into a master traveler too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Naz. Im not so worried about what we do as a family but more sad that a Christmas baby never really gets a proper super fun birthday party. Its hardly anything to be that upset about but you know how I love a party. But really just such a minor thing.
ReplyDeleteThanks. No bump (other than the one I already had from being fat) yet. Once I get nice and round, I'll share some photos.
ReplyDeleteOh I had no idea thats what you did for a living. (I just assumed you were in the design world). Thanks so much for the offer. At this point I don't even know what I don't know :)
ReplyDeleteThanks FC. Its good to hear other long term couples with similar stories. I sometimes feel like we are the only people on earth who intentionally waited til we were older and felt ready.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I am so excited for you both! I'm due in September, but still have a ways to go in nursery planning so I can't wait to see all that you come up with!!!
ReplyDeletecongrats! a wonderful new adventure!
ReplyDeleteSince we've found out, we've been to Hawaii and Vegas. I'll be going to DC this July and then hope to hit Victoria & Vancouver BC. Still trying to travel but keeping pretty close to home. I grew up traveling with my parents and absolutely loved it. I feel like it gave me such an appreciation for diversity and made me a more adaptable person. I hope you can travel loads with your little one and show him/her the world!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to see what you do with a nursery!!
Congratulations! I've been reading your blog for 2 years and never left a message. Thank you for the wonderful posts and can't wait for your baby project posts!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! This is going to be so exciting!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Mrs. Limestone! Sending good thoughts your way for a wonderful pregnancy, and looking forward to your baby-themed projects ahead!
ReplyDeleteI seriously and totally just got chills!!! I am so so excited for the both of you. What a wonderful time! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteBaby Limestone! I love it! How exciting - cheers to all the fun advetures ahead:)!
ReplyDeleteI have been a long time fan of your blog, however, this is my first time ever commenting... CONGRATS!!!! SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! This is indeed exciting and challenging time in a woman's life. Our second baby boy was due December 28th too but he joined us 2 weeks early. Take care of yourself...motherhood is a fun, at times scary but the most amazing experience.
ReplyDeletewhat exciting news! so happy for you!
ReplyDeletewww.five2eight.blogspot.com
Take it from an ex OB nurse that first babies are commonly late. I’m almost positive you’ll get your wish!
ReplyDeleteI want to add my congratulations!!!!! Happy for you both!
ReplyDeleteI am sooo excited for y'all! You are going to be awesome parents!! Yay!! I have a friend whose little boys bday is around your due date. So, promptly the morning of the 26th all the holiday comes down and the bday party decor goes up. Congrats on this wonderful blessing!! I was just wondering a couple of weeks ago (no lie) if you guys were going to start a family soon. Hugs from Conroe, Texas
ReplyDeleteWonderful news! Many blessings to you and your child!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I missed this post but congratulations on the wonderful news. I can't wait to see all the post about babies and nurseries. xoxo, MB
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! A baby is one of the best things in life. !Nothing compares.
ReplyDeleteYAAAAAY!!! I am so beyond thrilled for you and your husband. I totally hope your blog becomes part-time-mommy-blog....you would rock the crap outta that. Congratulations and hope you guys are gonna be able to enjoy these last months of sleep and peace!
ReplyDeletexo - kb
AAAhHHHH! How did I miss this?? So very excited for you :) This is wonderful news.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. Hope your pregnancy and delivery are as smooth as possible,
ReplyDeleteMany, many congratulations!!! It only gets more fun from here! ;-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Mrs Limestone!!! I am very happy for you and your husband. Your baby is coming just in time for the Golden Age.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! What an exciting time for y'all!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! I am so very happy for you. I started the same journey 20 yrs ago & it's been one of the best treasures of my life to be a mom. I've loved every stage - even the hard parts - & you will too. I am very happy for you.
ReplyDeleteStefanie, congrats!! That is such wonderful news! I'm so happy for you as you embark upon yet another adventure. And this is the grandest one yet!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you and your husband! I can't wait to see how you design the nursery. Love your style!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Your due date is the day after my birthday! I can't wait to see your nursery.
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! How wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThis is just spectacular news!!! What an incredible journey you are about to take...and I am so excited to share it with you!
ReplyDeleteOh my, how did I miss this??? I very hearty congratulations to you!! My advice (now that I'm in the midst of pregnancy #2) is to just not read very much. Honestly, 90% of it is entirely out of your control, so there's no sense fretting. Get a good "pregnancy week by week" book to learn about baby's development and just enjoy feeling baby move and people opening doors and carrying things for you. :-) Best of luck to you both in this exciting time!
ReplyDeleteOMG!!!!!!!!! I was on Pinterest the other day and saw a few of your pins. I was like, hmmm, someone is either expecting or planning! CONGRATS!!!! So happy for you guys and I totally understand this post. Hey, I want all of the adorable stuff featured!
ReplyDeleteSooooo happy!
