I don't consider myself a particularily avid trend watcher but I'd have to be blind to miss the Penguin book cover art gracing the walls of some super stylish homes lately. And I can certainly see why - the striking and graphic look is appealing in more ways than one.

I've been toying with my own DIY version for the nursery. I'm not going to decide on art until I have the room pieced together but in the meantime I thought I'd share a draft for your downloading pleasure. Not nearly as gorgeous as some of the beauties above but could be a fun in the right spot.

I absolutely love these ...
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun idea! I loved it instantly when I saw one in Rambling Renovator's basement post!

ReplyDeleteHow sweet are you! Love these! I am thinking that penguins are the new owls.
ReplyDeletetoo cute! :)
ReplyDeletevery cheesy
ReplyDeleteMe too. If you want a big one you might try to DIY one - you could probably do a pretty good giant version with a little paint and some decoupaged letters/penguin. I would do a giant one for the nursery if wall space wasn't quite so precious.
ReplyDeleteLove these! I'm so excited to see how your nursery turns out. Almost as much as my own.
ReplyDeleteLove these!!! Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteMini printables! So cute. Thanks for including me in your roundup!

ReplyDeleteThat Alanna Cavanagh art is kind of incredible. I'm tempted to try making one myself.
ReplyDeleteLove the vintage vibe and colors. They will be on my walls soon. :)
ReplyDeleteI love Alanna Cavanagh's work and have been eying her prints for a long time. Hoping to pick one up when I finally get around to decorating my plain bedroom.

Best, Alanna
You can also buy the postcards, http://www.amazon.com/Postcards-Penguin-Hundred-Book-Covers/dp/0141044667, and do a collage, as you can see not yet hung up in my apt. here: http://nervous-breakdown-hat.tumblr.com/post/26762264880/the-housewarming-party-was-a-success-both-in-that.
ReplyDeleteI always fondle those postcards when I see them in bookshops. I would think by the time they were framed en masse, it would end up costing almost as much as a large print though. Not sure.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI love these! Are you willing to share all 4 downloadable posters?
