If I were a hoarder...

I would be running to Tenalfy to snatch up this bamboo sideboard. I would rock its world with fresh color. Alas, no room at the inn.

This is third 'if i were a hoarder...' post (read the last one here). Ive sucessfully restrained myself thrice so I'm going to pat myself on the back for my willpower but I definitely struggle. Have you restrained yourself from scooping up some craigslist or flea market find? What juicy find did you drag yourself away from? How do you stay disciplined?

  1. I would totally buy that if I were you. It would be a great non-traditional changing table!

  2. Agreed but we still dont know which room we are using for the nursery.  This wouldn't fit in the little room. Plus I think its a bit too low for a changing table, more of a cool dresser.

I love that piece. Sometimes I remind myself that I can totally enjoy something without needed to own it. The thought of fitting it into the house is stressful enough to walk away and leave it.  That said, I still like more things than I need!

Every piece I refinish and sell, I first go through an internal struggle about letting it go!

OMG! My jaw just dropped when I opened this post! I just picked up the matching queen headboard to this dresser yesterday at a favorite thrift store! Complete with the yellow detail. I am planning on painting it white and using in my guest room...loving the chinoiserie design and feel!

I love it just the way it is!  Our craigslist "never" has anything so cute/good for such a good price.  and I live in north Louisiana!  Where we pass everything down to "your mom an' 'em."  Yet people list furniture on craigslist for near-retail price!  Nuts!

  9. Wow, this piece is awesome!  You could do so much with it.  I'd have a hard time walking away as well.

  10. Trust me, when it comes times for me to find anything I actually need, then craiglist is usually a complete bust for me too.  I just happen to find items I have no use for and lust after.  A deadly combo :)

If I were a hoarder, I would have picked up the little harborside Paint-by-Numbers I saw in an antique store this past weekend. They were green and yellow and super cute. Would have looked great reframed for a bathroom somewhere, some day. But I didn't because I don't know if we're moving and they won't "go" with the modern house of our dreams. That's why it was easy(er) to walk away.

That sideboard is amazing though. In turquoise with white trim? My my.

  15. I completely empathize with you.  I have much more limited space than you and there are so many things that I see that I can't have!  I've always wanted an antique secretary desk and I was out at an antique store and they had several desks.  One cooler than the next and the prices were so low!!  It killed me to walk away.  Maybe one day!

  16. Oh my goodness. This is perfect for a beach cottage. In fact I buy this furniture style when I see it and store it up in my attic (we are blessed with a great attic that is completely unused but is storing my finds) for when we find our perfect bungalow. I just live too far to get this piece.
