Now that calendar has flipped the page to August, I am officially sick of the oppressive heat and ready for fall. Anyone who has been around here long knows autumn is my favorite season for lots of reasons (my birthday, anniversary, cool weather, boots, sweaters, apple picking and so much more) but none more fun than Halloween. And it looks like I'm not the only one who loves a good scare because I've been seeing Halloween projects all over pinterest. (Follow me!) Yea! Let the countdown begin.

Let's start by giving some serious credit to people who take Halloween seriously. And they are talented to boot. Love it. I give you the most clever, ingenious and fabulous costumes I've seen pinned this year.
Ok so spill it? Who has their Halloween costume picked out? Or in the works? I want to know what you are planning!
I won't be revealing this years theme until I have some projects fully cooked but if you eeking for more, check out prior years Halloweens around here.
I'm never as creative as I want to be on Halloween. Since I've ben an adult, I've pretty much come up with zero good Halloween ideas. Those pins are awesome!
ReplyDeleteI know you love Halloween, and I love handing out candy, but I've never particularly loved dressing up. BUT i would totally love that Lichtenstein look. It's awesome!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE seeing what you do each year and can't wait for this year and how yo incorporate baby!
ReplyDeleteYep. Im all over Halloween right about now. I love Summer but I love Fall more {+ my BDay is in October, W00t!}. My son is almost 5 so Halloween becomes even that much more fun each year. I am thinking 'Greek Goddess' this year for me, although my little guy has said I will be a Pirate and Daddio will be Spiderman... We shall see.
ReplyDeleteThere wont be any baby incorporating this year. He/she isn't going to be arriving until Dec/Jan and Im not a big fan of pregnancy costumes. (Although I did think Jessica Simpson looked great as a 'mummy')
ReplyDeleteMe me me! I'm already thinking of how I'm going to decorate the house! I just posted on Instagram this weekend a whole beautiful wall full of Halloween cards at the new Papyrus store!
ReplyDeleteI'm one of those nuts who thinks about Hallowe'en 24/7/365, and have been thinking about my costume since March. I'm trying to convince my husband that we need to go as Columbia and Riff Raff from The Rocky Horror Picture Show, but the wig for him is a hard sell. We'll see how it goes!

ReplyDeleteI'm not thinking of it, yet, but I went in to Pier 1 this weekend to use the gift card that I won from you (ahem) and was SHOCKED to see a ton of Halloween stuff out already! Slow down, summer!!!
ReplyDeleteI generally don't plan much for Halloween, but I (and I'm sure a number of my friends) think that the 'zipper face' is an awesome idea!
ReplyDeleteOh yes. Meg and I are already in full on planning mode. So. Excited.
ReplyDeleteI'm super excited for it! But I'll be finishing up my masters this fall so who knows if I'll have time for anything fun :(
ReplyDeleteIn other news though, there was a Lichtenstein girl costume just like that at San Diego Comic Con last month!
I'm stuck between Cleopatra and a gory cheerleader!
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm excited to see what you come up with!! I am ready for Fall too!
ReplyDeleteOk...seriously this is the best blog I have come across in a long time! Happy to be following you!

I'm so glad I am not the only one who is thrilled we are, what, 85 days away? I have a traditional "Haunted House" theme this year, with the classic monsters and creepers that accompany it! Excited to put together a really clever Victorian costume this year too! Bring on Halloween!
ReplyDeleteOooh, yes we are already in the planning stages for a very tasteful Halloween. You know the kind: skeletons popping up, coffins opening and closing, coordinating soundtracks. I appreciate anyone who puts even the smallest effort into wearing a costume, but when someone creates a really clever costume I just can't get over how marvelous people are.
ReplyDeleteHow funny to see Shelly posting comments here--we had drinks at the West Coast Haunters Convention backin May. Some of your readers might be surprised to learn that there are so many "Halloween addicts" there are annual Halloween conventions all over the U.S.
I'm definitely thinking Halloween but we don't normally make a big production of it. This year, though, we'll have a 1 month old and since it'll be his first holiday ever, we have costumes already picked out!
ReplyDeleteI love me some Halloween but I think we won't be doing too much this year since the baby will only be a few weeks old. Can't wait to see what you come up with though.
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding? I am! Constantly. But sometimes I think about not doing anything just to take a break. My big kick every year is seeing what you are doing! Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI am beside myself with excitement! Holy bananas. I was just thinking this morning about starting to put up some of my phase 1 Halloween decorations inside. Can't let people on the outside know how nuts I am!
ReplyDeleteYES!! We've been building props since the Spring! My boyfriend actually runs BetterHauntsAndGardens.com so of course we're a little insane when it comes to Halloween planning. You should submit your haunt to our directory so more people can find your amazing displays and see your hard work :)
ReplyDeleteI seriously look forward to seeing your Halloween posts every year <3
I am so there with Halloween! No costume ideas yet though...
