Whoosh. That is how fast time is flying. Somehow I've made it to 30 weeks and I'm still feeling good. You hear that? I'm knocking on wood and crossing my fingers and praying parenthood is as smooth as pregnancy has been. Somehow I doubt it.
I'm having maternity photos taken in a couple of weeks (with the amazing Laura Bruen) nd totally stressing about what to wear. Here are the contenders. The photos will be outdoors (so no, you won't be seeing any naked belly or draped in gauze shots) with my husband. What should I wear? One of these or something else entirely? Suggestions for improvement?
The first dress is a maternity dress and I think it makes me look most pregnant but also a bit round. The second one is something I wear ALL the time, not maternity. Its too low cut to wear without a scarf or something covering up my jumblies. I feel like everyone has seen me in this dress 10,000 times so I'd rather not wear it since its kind of boring. The third is something I just picked up from Old Navy - not maternity.
Help me pick something that I won't feel too ginormously rotund in when I'm looking back on the shots.
Definitely wear something you love and feel comfortable in! I vote for the second option, the blue dress, but maybe with a nice necklace -- the scarf kind of disguises the baby bump and that seems like something you would want to celebrate and capture on film. All the best! CT
ReplyDeleteThis probably isn't so helpful but you'd look gorgeous in anything! You truly do glow! Congrats to you and Luke.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely something very simple in a solid color. Prints distract from the shape of your body, which I think is exactly the opposite of what you want in a maternity photo.
ReplyDeleteYou think? I feel like I look more preggo in the first print dress.
ReplyDeletethe third dress really brings out your eyes, but doesn't show off your belly! :) i like the first dress the best, but after reading the other comments, i realize a solid color would also be a good choice.
ReplyDeleteand now that i think about it, i don't know that i've commented...hi! and congrats!☆
Love the middle outfit!!
ReplyDeleteYay! The 10 week countdown! Always my favorite part :) You look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous in all but I loveeee the center look! Best of luck with the photos, what an exciting time!
ReplyDeleteThe middle dress for sure! Although I agree with one comment below you could wear a necklace instead of a scarf to really show off the bump? Either way I love the solid middle dress the best.
ReplyDeleteI gotta be honest here, I think you should pick the outfit that MOST accents your belly. These are maternity shots after all. That does not mean wear something you feel fat and gross in, but something that showcases exactly what's going on in your life right now. I like outfit two because I'm just more of a solids person, but I'd lose the scarf.
ReplyDeleteYou are looking lovely! My faves are the second and third dresses. Maybe you could try a nice chunky necklace in the same colour as the scarf to solve the issue with the "girls" being on display. The green printed dress might use a cute little belt above the bump. All these dresses are great pics and complement your skintone and hair colour.
ReplyDeleteLove the First dress! I think the colors are beautiful on you! I like the green dress as well however I think you would need to belt it under your "jumblies" to break it up a bit. I think in its current state it almost looks a little boxy. I'm sure whatever you decide you will look great! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteIf you really, truly want total honesty, I'm looking at the one with the striped shirt and jeans. You look pregnant, healthy and happy in that one - not that you don't in the others but it's just charming and you.
ReplyDeleteYou look great in all of them, but the third one is my least favorite... It's nice to accentuate your belly! So, I vote for the first dress!
ReplyDeleteI would pick the first one without the doubt! You look pregnant in it and that's why you are doing this photo shoot to document your pregnancy and not to hide it. The second dress is very pretty and classy and you look great it in but your pregnant belly is completely covered. I find the small print on the third dress distracting - to the point where I am looking at the print and not seeing your face...if you know what I mean. The first is the way to go. Enjoy your session!
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely glowing - you look beautiful in all the dresses. I would go for the one that makes you feel the best. Love the chalkboard timeline.
ReplyDeleteI like the dress on the right!
ReplyDeletefirst. you're gorgeous. Second. the middle wrap dress is classic and definitely translates best in the photos. Later, over the years, when you look back you nor others will be thinking about how much you wore the dress. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with most of the other comments. Prints are quite distracting in photos, and the whole point of a maternity photo shoot is to show off the fact that you are pregnant! If you are comfortable in the second dress, go for it! Show off that beautiful belly!
ReplyDeleteMy vote is the blue dress in the middle with either a shorter scarf or a jeweled necklace.
ReplyDeleteLooking great S!! Okay - the best option of the three is definitely number 2. I think #1 covers the bump too much. #3 Also covers you up too much but the colour is very flattering on you.
ReplyDeleteI say take a few outfits and change mid-shoot. Definitely try something that is a bit more fitted on top to show off that amazing belly!! Seriously - only time in women's lives where we want to show off our belly :-)
Now that I'm no longer preggo I miss being able to show off my belly haha.
Definitely the middle. :)
ReplyDeleteI vote for the first dress.
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMy eyes immediately went to the second/blue dress - but like other posters, I thought that a statement necklace might be nice in lieu of the scarf. Of course, if it really is as low-cut as you say and you feel uncomfortable in it, then there is the rub. If not the blue, then the third/green-print!
I know you said you didn't want to wear the blue dress, but it is absolutely fantastic! It looks sooo good on you. I agree with CT that a necklace instead of the scarf would be so great, as long as you feel comfortable with your jumblies haha. However, the Old Navy dress is a super close second. You will look fabulous in anything! I would go with what you'll feel best in. Anything will look great.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, Steph? Where did time go? You look FABULOUS!
ReplyDeleteI agree. I've taken maternity shots for friends before, and I love the jeans and top look. It's simple but versatile.
ReplyDeleteMaybe its not obvious in these photos but I look much more pregnant in #1 than in #2. People wont even get up for me on the train in #2.
ReplyDeleteAll of my jeans and maternity pants seem to slide off after I take two steps. I was expecting maternity jeans to be super comfortable but they are awful!
I vote for #2. Can you wear a tank top under it (or tape in a rectangle of fabric that looks like a tank top but doesn't add bulk)?
ReplyDeleteSarah
I would wear that if it were practical but the shirt is riding up now and the pants just fall off as soon as I take a step. Maybe if I find a better pair of jeans between now and then but it doesn't seem so likely.
ReplyDeleteNot really - the front of the dress cross over in such a way that it would look odd with a tank.
ReplyDeleteUgh that is annoying about the jeans/pants! I just think #1 isn't as flattering. I had a few proper maternity dresses and I found them to be overwhelmingly unflattering for some reason. Yes, I looked more preggo but I didn't feel good in them.
ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong - you look great in all three! As for ppl not getting up for you on the train - that is crazy. It is like that in Toronto as well. It wasn't until I was about 38 weeks pregnant that people finally felt shamed into giving me a seat.
I might be outvoted, but I love 3 the best!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love the casual look with jeans and a top :)
I think the second dress because it really accentuates your round belly...YOU WaNT to look preganant and you are glowing. I think you should celebrate the boobies....so what it shows a little cleavage...congrats and enjoy your pregnancy every bit...it goes toooo fast as does infancy,
ReplyDeleteI love the second dress! Maybe with a tank underneath since it is low cut. All three are beautiful though! Congrats to you and Luke! Such an exciting time. :)
ReplyDeleteYou're gorgeous in anything. I think something that doesn't read too heavy, even though it's fall would be great. Is it just one outfit you're shooting in? If not, how about adding a top/pant/jean shot too. Please do a gauze-y sweater so I can live vicariously! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the simplicity of the navy dress in the center with the scarf. The solid color won't compete with all the beautiful fall colors and the slightly fitted shape will really shows off your bump.
ReplyDeleteI vote for #2! I think a solid color is best since patterns take away from the bump! I also think a big statement necklace instead if the scarf so you can cover your cleavage but show off the bump is best!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a solid colour so as not to compete with the other textures and colours going on outdoors.
ReplyDeleteHate to disappoint but there wont be any gauzey windblown belly shots for me. That is not my style.
ReplyDeleteWe are doing the shoot on the streets so I can't really change so its one outfit or bust.
Aw man lol Well then, I'd choose either jeans/top if that's something that makes you feel comfy & beautiful or one of the dresses that makes you feel the same. I think #1 shows off your pregnancy more than the others but very flattering too!
ReplyDeleteYou look so gorgeous in all three.. but for a photoshoot I vote for option one. I personally think it is most flattering and cutely pregnant looking. The middle doesn't look as clean on your back, and the third option is darling, but might be a little busy for the camera. Again, just my opinion.
ReplyDeleteWhhhatttt no naked shots wrapped in gauze that somehow floats magically in the wind? LOLz... I cant wait to see the results!
Actually I like the jeans and stripey sweater - they are just look super good on you, def. non of the dresses!
ReplyDeleteI say embrace any roundness you have and go with it! My daughters are grown now and their complaint about photos taken when I was pregnant is that I was always covering the bump and dressing to look as non-pregnant as possible. I wish I had embraced showing my bump more, but maternity fashion in the late 80s was terrifying. Your daughter will want to see the bump!
ReplyDeleteI like the second dress the most or maybe the third choice with a belt? I wore a fitted, solid color dress to our maternity shoot. I felt a little self conscious because I was all "hey world look at my big baby belly" but in the end the pictures turned out great and it helped avoid the tented rotund look! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteYou might want to go out and buy a really flattering pair of maternity jeans right now, like the expensive designer jeans at Two Peas in a Pod. Although it might not seem like it, ten weeks is a long time when you are so enormous and nothing fits right. Its tough at the end and its nice to have some clothes that are flattering and comfortable. And sadly, after the birth, you aren't going to be jumping back into your old jeans so those expensive jeans with the comfortable stretchy waist do come in handy for a few weeks (months?) more.
ReplyDeleteI'm with the other ladies, I think jeans and a fitted (solid color?) top - try one with side ruching - those always stayed down best for me. With a fun statement necklace I think it would be perfect.
ReplyDeleteIf that doesn't work out I think the second option is my favorite. The thing about dresses is that they don't define the bump as much since they just hang after the bump.
I like the color combination of the blue and orange, and that's what a great photographer is for - to make sure you're not baring anything you don't want to. The shape of the blue dress also shows off the belly in a flattering way, where I think the allover pattern of the Old Navy dress doesn't do enough to call attention to it. And I think the sheen on the first dress may not look right lighting-wise. So my choice is definitely #2! So pretty and brings out your eyes too!
ReplyDeleteWear something that feels comfortable ,the second one looks good on you, gives definition to your body shape.May be you can choose another dress may be a different color but of the same kind...you also look younger in it.My second choice would be the third-but the print is to geometric and slightly distracting
ReplyDeleteI would wear the blue dress in the middle, because you can clearly tell that you're pregnant from all angles (which is the point of the shoot, after all!) but it still is incredibly flattering. One note - I would pair different tights (not black - maybe dark brown/grey/cream?) with your boots and that dress, and I also would make sure they're totally opaque, unlike these.
ReplyDeletei really like the last dress, although it makes it kind of difficult to see your pregnant belly. c; buuuut, you'll most likely be holding the dress in above and below your belly so it'll obviously be showing. my vote is on the third one!
ReplyDeleteI think all black looks fantastic in maternity photos. What about a simple, black dress. Or if you can tolerate the jeans for a couple of hours, this top would photograph well I think. http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=6041&vid=1&pid=915678022
ReplyDeleteIt would also look great with a pair of black wide legged trousers.
I like the second dress but you said you wear it all the time so my second choice would be outfit 1!
ReplyDeleteI am not pregnant, haven't been pregnant and sadly won't ever be...with that said. I think you should consider where you are going to have your photos done. You don't want your outfit to blend in or look too busy. I'm guessing you have been looking on pinterest too? I have seen some amazing photos done showcasing the baby bump without showing it all. I do agree with one of the other commentors that it is about the belly after all ;) I am leaving you with a link to some materinity photos that one of my fav photog's has done. I hope they inspire you. http://www.ardenprucha.com/category/maternity/
ReplyDeleteMaternity photos?
ReplyDeleteWha...?
-Why all this tohu-va-bohu?
Ugh, I feel like an asshat saying this, but people are kind of doing too much weird stuff & let themselves be led too such funny consumerism thingys that it isn't funny anymore.
Dudes, chill!
It's a pregnancy... have quality time or something instead.
P.S.: If it makes you happy though... you look best in the blue dress & that golden-saffron scarf. (The pic in the middle)
I agree with this commenter. It's all about the shape and how it reads on camera! The way the light plays with the solid color is what brings out the baby bump here, in my opinion :)
ReplyDeleteI would go with a solid color dress or a pair of jeans with a fun solid color top. Prints definately distract from the adorable baby bump! And you don't want that. Can't wait to see how the pics turn out!
ReplyDeleteLaura B's doing your pics -- SO exciting! She's the best.
ReplyDeleteCan you wear a cami under dress 2? Or a faux cami? Something to keep the jumbies under cover? :-) I like a solid color to draw the focus to you and the baby bump. Though I have to say that third dress is super cute!
I'd wear something reasonably fitted and maternity because there's no point in maternity photos if your bump is disguised (even if you're feeling giant now). The third dress is too hiding. Target has some great dresses right now (super cute):

Or something like this from Old Navy: http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=48687&vid=1&pid=255069022
Without reading any other comments and having been pregnant enough times to log the "bad" outfits.....I highly recommend that you were something that REALLY shows off your baby belly. Its your first, so moi important and plus, that is the real beauty, lets be honest it really is.! Try to find one of those more body huggy dresses you would probably not wear any other time. I used to scoff at those, but then I said, "wait a minute, I love that those women are really celebrating whats going on". If you try to wear something flowing, all you will do is look BIG and who wants that!!! Take the plunge and spend money on something for this one special once in a life time first...
ReplyDeleteLets not forget the moment will live on forever in photos, so why wouldn't you spend the time. I don't know where you live but I understand at Nordstroms that they have personal shoppers for FREE. Make a date!
And congrats...soooo happy for you!
BTW -- you look great! Totally glowing.
ReplyDeleteI know you think the sold blue is possibly boring, but it will read really well for the shots. I also completely get the "jumblies" situation! So, may I suggest tying your scarf slightly different? More like loose circle (infinity) scarf so that it doesn't cover the encased bebe?? Maybe a different scarf from what you typically wear with it?
ReplyDeleteHi Stephanie,
ReplyDeleteHow about what you are wearing in the top photos? Even substituting a white top? You will probably be happiest with a timeless choice as the years go by and you look back at the photos. Good luck! You are beautiful.
I like the green dress, it's simple and pretty and the color looks good with your hair. Hurray on 30 weeks!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Im usually a big fan of Target clothes but their maternity clothes are awful for me.
ReplyDeleteYou should see how much stuff I have bought and returned from Old Navy and Gap. Its kind of ridiculous :)
I think the 3rd dress is very pretty, but would be too busy in a picture. The 2nd one is my favourite and its fitting that its your "everyday" dress, but if you won't feel as special in it then #1 is the natural choice. I don't feel like it makes you look "more pregnant" but at the same time, that's kind of the point of maternity pictures!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I implied that I haven't been buying clothes in my post but I definitely have. Its not about saving money - Im happy to spend to buy something that works - just haven't been crazy about anything.
ReplyDeleteGood suggestion on Nordstrom but I dont think they have much in the way of maternity. Sadly most maternity stuff is online which means I spend a lot of time opening packages and then boxing them back up to return.
I would go with something tight and black! But all 3 dresses are gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteI vote for the middle dress, looking back at my own maternity shots, I love the solid colors much more than any of the patterns. Maybe add a cami underneath instead of the scarf and then (my all time favorite!) a skinny belt above the belly to help accentuate the bump?! :)
ReplyDeleteYou really look just stunning in the blue! It shows off the belly so well (at least in photos!) And it is really the most classic of the three. It reminds me quite a bit of Kate Middleton's Issa dress she wore on her engagement announcement-so while timeless, also quite fitting for the time your baby is born into!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos.
ReplyDeleteYou look great in all 3 but I like the third one (Old Navy) best. My daughter's maternity pics were inside, but the nicest outfit turned out to be a white satin pajama set - pants and long sleeved button down top...
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteI like them all, but just know that the last 10 wks of most pregnancies your belly grows a lot and what fits now, might not fit in a few weeks. I know that sucks, but it happens.
ReplyDeleteI love the last one the best. I like them all, but I think the scarf in the second option distracts from the baby bump :) You look great!
ReplyDeleteI know you said you think everyone has already seen you in the second outfit, but it's definitely my favorite! Also, as a photographer, I would say it's your best option. Since you're taking the photos outside, the leaves or whatever background you choose would make the other two options very distracting. But you do look beautiful in all three! :)
ReplyDeleteI vote for the 2nd option, it shows of your belly the best and you look beautiful! Congrats on 30 weeks, if you think pregnancy goes by fast just wait till that baby is born!!
ReplyDeleteYou look great! Totally agree on the jeans/top approach. Seems very right. Really, anything would work - just have fun. Congrats.
ReplyDeleteJeans and stripe top...A+!
ReplyDelete30 weeks already! I like the first dress honestly. I don't think it looks round, it is very flattering. Too small scale of a pattern may look really busy (third dress) and I like the second but you don't sound wild about it. Also, I agree, the striped top is super cute. I just did mine last week at an onsen (a spa that had an attached park here in Japan) and it was really fun. I'm so excited to have them as a keepsake of this time. -Ann @ thesewallsofwhite.blogspot
ReplyDeleteCan you not have a wardrobe change halfway through the shoot? If so, then definitely love the 1st and 2nd options. And I know what you mean about the naked belly shots, I so didn't want that either and definitely didn't want anyone else to see, but after gentle persuasion from my photographer I had just a couple done, and am so glad I did. Again, no-one has seen them except for me and hubby (oh, and the photographer of course LOL! ;) ) but I love looking at them every so often just to remind myself of how much my body changed to nurture our beautiful lil' boy *happy sigh* :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteI'd also agree that printing on the dress hide the body shape. But you are looking good in the first dress with black strips.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter just did the cutest maternity/family photos. She chose a very simple t-shirt dress from Gap Maternity and it was perfect. Showed that cute bump and kept her shape. Love love love the pictures. Sometimes simple is best, yes? http://www.beckynovacekphotography.com/blog/garrett-katie-sutton-and-baby-and-a-baby-b-list-beckynovacekphotography-maternity-and-family-photographer-omaha-nebraska/
ReplyDeleteI think all three are amazing, you look so great in all of them! But my vote is for the last dress, I just like it best :)
ReplyDeleteYou are entitled to your opinion but I don't think its "weird" or wrong me to want some nice photographs of my husband and I during what is likely a once in a lifetime period for us. I'm not suggesting the wall street journal run my photos as a top news story but this is a big deal for us personally. I can't imagine why you would be bothered by that or why you see it as a negative thing but to each their own.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. Those dresses are never flattering on me but I'm not as slim and gorgeous as your daughter :)
ReplyDeleteDid you post them on your blog? I can't find them.
ReplyDeleteWe are doing our photos on the street so I can't change easily. Not to mention I have enough of a problem picking out one outfit - I could never pick two :)
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the second dress, until you said you didn't want to wear. If you don't want to, then don't wear it! I would defintely pick the first one.
ReplyDeleteRecently saw another preg blogger trying to choose dresses - she rented from Mine for Nine website and had good experience. Since you are online shopping mostly anyway maybe something to consider? Here is her post on the site: http://www.modgblog.com/2012/09/17/my-last-time-on-the-toilet-before-the-baby-comes-no-my-last-time-standing-on-it/
ReplyDeleteGood luck, for what it is worth I love option 2 and 1! : )
You look great in all of them. The neckline of the first and second options flatter you best and the second option would look great with a fabulous necklace. Change the hose to a natural color and you're set :) I side with others in that your jeans & striped shirt are a good option. I used a belly band to keep jeans up during this phase (that elastic band they put on pants didn't work at any point - I finally found adjustable waist pants) and it worked great.
ReplyDeleteIn any case, be sure to smile & that's what people will see most.
btw - I love the book ledges that you found at Ikea - I wish the closest Ikea wasn't 4 hours away from my house! I want some of their butcherblock counter tops too.
I love the jeans and black/white striped top....simple, classic and flattering.
ReplyDeleteLove the geometric look. Fun AND flattering!
ReplyDeleteI like the navy blue dress with the mustard-yellow scarf. It hugs your belly just right!
ReplyDeleteI love you in jeans! I think a white button down men oxford and jeans!
ReplyDeleteI like how you really look pregnant in the first dress, you really aren't showing a ton - I didn't either.
ReplyDeleteI like the blue, but I'd loose the scarf & it doesn't seem as if you can, due to the neckline.
I'd buy a new solid color dress: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/olian-v-neck-maternity-dress/3409989?cm_cat=datafeed&cm_ite=olian_v-neck_maternity_dress:631041&cm_pla=dresses:women:dress&cm_ven=Google_Product_Ads&mr:ad=20584802393&mr:adType=pla&mr:filter=40532854193&mr:keyword={keyword}&mr:match={matchtype}&mr:referralID=NA&mr:trackingCode=F073F2C1-7915-E211-9A4A-90E2BA0278A8&origin=pla
Exciting! I did my friend's materity photos and had her wear a sweater, skinny jeans and boots (it was in Feb. so she also had a hat, scarf and mittens in some pics) I agree with a couple of posters on wearing a solid color. Prints distract from the belly and also in pictures might be a little too much.
ReplyDeleteI realize you've worn the middle dress a lot before, but I like that one the best. Use the pop of color/pattern with a scarf.
Oh that's too bad. I hope you find something that works AND that you feel good in. I think that's the most important thing btw, if you wear something you don't feel good in, you'll always remember that when looking at the pics.
ReplyDeleteMy vote is whatever you are most comfortable in. Judging by the 3 pictures and what you wrote, I feel like you look must comfortable in the first one. The second one, you say you wear it all the time and you don't want your girls hanging out there and in my opinion, the print on the 3rd dress is just too distracting and doesn't show off your baby belly. Although it is a cute dress, I don't think it's good for maternity pictures.
ReplyDeleteBut to each their own....That's my opinion! You look great!! Congrats!!
I like the last one best, certainly. But I would use something like a tiny belt or a lint around it to add some interest and break up the pattern. Usually for photos your gonna look at forever tough, you might want to wear something timeless. So not to bold patterns and no colours that are very trendy. Usually black and white works well. I think I'd shop for a red dress tough.
ReplyDeleteAny way to buy the second dress in a dif color? That it would be special for the photo shoot! I like dress 3 a lot, but don't think it shows off your belly that much.
ReplyDeleteI love the middle outfit so I can see why you wear it all the time. I think it does a nice job of showing off the pregnant belly while being flattering of the overall body. If it's too tried and true if it were me I'd look for a similar silhouette in a solid pattern.
ReplyDeleteYou look wonderful in all these outfits but if you're going to be outdoors I'd vote for the top and jeans -look, since especially the first dress is a little too fancy for outdoors in my opinion, feels a little out of place. Out of the dresses I'm loving the middle one, solid color with a complimentary/colourful big necklace.
ReplyDeleteYou should look ginormously round; you're pregnant! Pick the one that shows your pregnancy the most. I choose #1
ReplyDeleteI love the blue dress and would try and wear a camisole under it with a necklace. I also saw a pretty black and white top in the Paris photos and wondered about that one with black pants or a black skirt.
ReplyDeleteStef - its Alina from GT and fellow park sloper - have you visited the Bump store on Bergen St? I would recommend wearing something that is a solid color, but a "maternity" styled outfit - reason being - you'll get much rounder in the next few weeks, and the non-maternity stuff will start to look a bit weird. If that doesn't work, there is also a motherhood store at Atlantic Mall and some Gaps sometimes may have decent maternity things.
ReplyDeleteGo for a maxi skirt and a plain tee! I love how the focus then is all on the belly!
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful! I vote for the 2nd dress--the wrap, the color, the boots--its perfect! I totally understand about the need to cover the ladies, but the scarf tied like that is taking away from your lovely baby shape. Is there a way to drape it like an infinity scarf to show the baby shape and still keep the ladies in check? Either way, thanks for sharing your journey with us all--Congratulations to you all!
ReplyDeleteI think either simple navy top with a scoop neckline and stretchy fabric and jeans, or a stretchy dress in a solid color that shows off your bump. You want to show some skin at the neckline, but really accentuate the bump! by the way, you look great!
ReplyDeleteI had really good luck with Gap maternity jeans. The ones with the big stretchy top not the low rise ones. I think I wore them for about 2 months after baby was born.
ReplyDeleteI like the second option!
Good luck!
I think you look the best in the first dress!! The colors and fit are very flattering on you. The second dress pulls too much, and you can see it in the picture (probably because it's not an actual maternity dress). And the third dress appears psychedelic in the picture. The print is too much. These are just my opinions, however!!
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic, and a girl! How exciting, what a fabulous time in one's life to be sure!! Janell
ReplyDeleteI would wear something that shows off your bump. I favored jeans and solid color tops for my shoot!
ReplyDeleteI think the 3rd option is super cute. Adding a skinny belt above that ahh-dorable belly of yours may accentuate the bump a bit more. I wore the 'above belly belt' with everything when I was preggers - over a cardigan, with a dress, even dressed up a simple white tee with a splash of coloured belt. A lot of the maternity photographers I like (see pink sugar photography) get their clients to subtly tug the dress off to the side so it hugs the belly in a flattering ruche - I'm probably not explaining myself very well, but trust me it's a very attractive look. you'll look beautiful in whatever you wear - glowing you are ;) xo
ReplyDelete
