Favorite Entertaining Trick: Green Your Chandelier

With the end of summer near, I can't help but start to think of putting my party hat on and get back to entertaining.  So while I get my own plans in order, I thought I'd ask some of my favorite blogger hosts to share their favorite entertaining tips/projects with us.

Contributing today is the stylist / florist that worked on my brother's wedding (I can't wait for them to get back from their honeymoon to share the photos!) - Patricia from Karma Flowers.  She and her her team has endless ideas of how to make a party stand out (I just love how they use furniture in their outdoor parties!). Check out their blog for more of beautiful styling and floral ideas.

Patricia says:
"Transform your favorite chandelier into a green oasis with bunches of your favorite greens (we used seeded eucalyptus) and plastic zip ties. Simply grab a handful of the greens in bunches and tie them right to the chandelier making sure the greens aren't directly touching the lightbulbs."

Thanks to Patricia for sharing a a simple but impactful tip for decorating for our next party. It's so smart to think vertically!

  1. That's a great idea! I was always wondering how safe it was to do...but I guess if you stay away from the light sources, you are OK. I have a birthday celebration coming up...will give it a try!!

  2. Wonder if it gives off any aroma when the light bulbs get hot...

  3. Oh I love that look! I'd like to adapt it for our Halloween party. I'm thinking spanish moss and maybe some black or dead roses, bones, etc. Very cool, thanks for the good idea.

    1. I've tried to hang spanish moss from the chandelier at our house but the kind I buy at the craft store tends to be kind of short so it doesn't stick together that well. Wonder if they have a longer variety that will drape better? If you find some, please let me know.
