I would be all over this vintage school desk I stumbled upon on craigslist. I know they are pretty common but there is something about them that is just too adorable.
Maybe when Aggie gets a bit older I'll have reason to buy one but until then, restraint is my friend.
This is why I avoid Craigslist as much as humanely possible! There are just too many tempting things that could be very cute and helpful "down the road!"

I cant help but look but Im pretty good about resisting since I dont drive (and therefore can't pick up any item without some planning ahead)
DeleteI recently found the ones that are just the open desk for your books/notepad without the chair. I bought two, $20 ea., from Craigslist and they're now my night stands. I'm going to repaint them, but I share your love for old school things. Good luck on your restraint, I have to work on mine every second of the day. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great deal. Im sure they make the perfect nightstand.
DeleteI had one just like this when my daughter was 2. We kept it first in the living room then when we moved to a larger house, in the playroom. She loved it for coloring & drawing. I got mine from Salvation Army.
ReplyDeleteI adore these, also. Same with the ones that have the lift top. I actually went to grade school where we had these the first year I was there before they were replaced with newer ones. My husband always gives me the glare when I look at these. He wouldn't care if I bought one but I know he's thinking, "where on earth are you going to put it?" Oh, if we only had a bigger house so I could hoard just a little bit more STUFF. ;)
ReplyDeleteI chuckle because after sitting in those exact desks for 8 years in Catholic grade school I would never want one! LOLOL
ReplyDeleteWe had one for our son when he was just a little kid! The funny thing is, I had forgotten all about it until I saw this photo! I am now wondering what we did with it? Sad thing is I can't recall and it wasn't THAT long ago...
ReplyDeleteOh man, that takes me back! I had a similar desk.... My mom homeschooled me in kindergarten. All I remember is my desk and that I got cheese crackers when I did something good:)
ReplyDeleteBuy it now! You can use it as a plant stand in the mean time. Sorry, I know that doesn't help you if you have a touch of compulsive shopper in you.
ReplyDeleteYou should get it now because that time will come before you know it. Toddlers love to play “big kid”. She’ll use it forever.
ReplyDeleteI agree with "Living Life in the Lowcountry". I think that she has correct think.
