Lately I've been terrible about working on my photography skills. Either I don't bother to bring my camera with me or I never get it out of the diaper bag. My smart phone is just too easy to fall back on but its not the same. Obviously I'm working on my toddler catching technique more than ever (and failing miserably most of the time) but I miss practicing photography on other subjects as well. I definitely feel rusty so I'm going to try to make a point of shooting more in general.
With that in mind, my only decent photo from this weekend is two random zoo monkeys. Maybe their judgmental glares will get me motivated to do better?
When I first got into photograhy years ago after college, I would bring my dslr and lenses with me to almost everywhere but once I felt I succeeded trying all the techniques, I guess I was satisfied and didn't bring my equipment with me much, also there were other priorities that came with age. Now, I only bring my dslr on vacations, and even then, I dont carry it with me everywhere, my phone or point-and-shoot camera would do.
ReplyDeleteYes exactly. But I guess my skills weren't that good b/c I've totally lost the ability to take some good photos when I really want to. I guess I need to practice more than others?
DeleteToo cute. When I read the post the song "Hit me with your best Shot" came to mind. Fire Away. I think it's a really good pic. and love the mysteriousness of the background.
ReplyDeleteAnd that poor monkey...I'd hate to have to carry that LONG tail around all day. :D
Jake's a Girl
The focus and colour are great. I think you definitely nailed it. Keep practicing!
ReplyDeleteIs this the Bronx Zoo? Great pic!
ReplyDeleteAwesome pic. I liked the background of the photograph.
