Our girl is right around the corner from her second birthday and is quickly casting off her baby shackles as she breaks free into kidness. Of course she will always be my baby but she is getting better at doing things herself everyday. I never thought I'd be the kind of person to feel sentimental about having a more independent child but I can't help but miss those squishy baby days.
Not that I mean that this stage isn't a ton of fun. She loves to run and play and is just generally a blast to be around. She seems to say or do something new every time I turn around. She is also growing at a faster pace than I can keep up with - she is taller than almost every other kid her age.
I am unreasonably excited about the holidays this year. She is still too little to really understand it all but I'm sure she'll get a kick out of quite a lot of it. Plus I'm sure I'll enjoy it enough for the both of us :)
She is a cutie! I've always thought she has such beautiful blue eyes. And she is growing up way too quickly! :) I enjoy following your blog & seeing your life in NYC. I've been there as a one day tourist a couple of times but would love to come & do your "Brooklyn Tour Guide" thing sometime. I've always wanted to stay in NYC & go to a Broadway play. Maybe I need to put that on my bucket list. Beautiful photography!

ReplyDeleteBe prepared, I had a tall son at that age. When he was 3 people would ask him if he was in kindergarten.

ReplyDeleteOMG she is beautiful, just like her Mama! I was told that you should measure your child when they are 2 years old for they will be 1/2 the height they will be full grown. My daughter was 33' tall at 2 (so according to what I was told she would be 66" tall in adulthood), she turns 26 tomorrow and she is 5'6" tall. So it was pretty accurate for her!

DeleteShe is a beauty! I was going to tell you the same about doubling her height now to know her full grown height but the post above beat me to it! I vouch for that as well! My 23 year old beauty is 5'6", double what she was at 2 years! And they grow so fast- a blink, I tell you- a blink! Enjoy every moment!

ReplyDeleteshe is a doll.....what a fun stage...I miss all the little stages, but being able to share shoes and borrow polish and make-up from your 16 year old daughter is pretty fun too....enjoy her ,I think she should be a GAP baby model
