Fall Dining Room

Last week's cool weather totally got me in the fall mood.  Even though I don't decorate the house for fall generally (Halloween is enough of a handful for me!), sometimes the mood just strikes me to make a few seasonal changes.  Makes it a lot more fun to use a space when it has something new to look at, don't you think?

The centerpiece is an arrangement of craft pumpkins set on wood slice chargers, spotted feathers (raided from Aggie's art cart) are tucked into cotton stems.  The whole look is finished with chunky wood candle sticks and a ticking stripe runner.

Bring on the sweater weather! Who is with me?

    1. Thank you Cassie! I know technically cotton is probably more summer than fall but it worked so well with the pumpkins, I had no choice.

    2. You are always so inspiring! I live in Pima County where Pima cotton is grown. It is harvested in October so it is right on point for fall. I mixed some with bittersweet for my table.

  3. Is that a magnetic board in the background on the wall with the leaf garland on it? I love the wood slice chargers...

    1. Yes, its a magnetic chalkboard. I wouldn't mind if it were a little bigger but I love having a blank canvas to dress up as needed. Sometimes I use chalk, sometimes I use magnetic letters but it's an easy way to change the view.

  4. I love the dining room decor! But my favorite part of this post is that you DIDN'T "style" the kitchen in the background. You might've cleared away a dish or the stack of mail, but it feels real and authentic. What? You don't have freshly baked bread on a rustic board and a perfect basket of straight-from-the market produce lying on your counter all the time?! Phew. Me either.

    1. ha! Well in fairness I wasn't planning on photographing the kitchen so that is part of it. I did move the bottle drying rack and giant banana pile behind a cabinet door so you wouldn't see our mess. But I'm a clean counter freak - I don't even like that I have to have a coffee maker out but hey, sleep deprived parents need their caffeine infusion and it doesn't fit in the cabinet above!

  5. Hello Mrs Limestone. Your dining room looks perfect. I was wondering where your awesome wine rack table is from.

    1. Hi Sukanya - I purchased it from a Restoration Hardware outlet years ago. I haven't seen anything similar since but I'm sure its out there.

  7. This looks beautiful! I may have to copy for my dining room. I have everything for it except the cotton stems, do you have an idea of where to source them?

  10. Love the magnetic letters, they look like a neutral color (as opposed to the really colorful ones). Could you please share the source? Thank you!!!

    1. I spray painted the colorful kind with gold paint. I wish I could find them ready made but alas DIY it was.
